Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:Imidazole derivatives of formula I (R is lower alkyl; n is 3 - 5).
EXAMPLE: 1-(5-Ethoxycarbonylpentyl)imidazole.
USE: It has an activity inhibiting biosynthesis of thromboxane A2 and is usefual as a remedy for diseases caused by thromboxane A2 as inflammation, hyperpiesia, thrombosis, and asthma.
PREPARATION: Imidazole of formula II is added under stirring to a solution or suspension of the equimolar amount of a base in a solvent, heated and then 0.9 mole, based on the compound of formula II, of a compound of formula III is added to the reaction mixture with heating at 50 - 150°C to form the objective compound of formula I.
