Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain stable distance measurement data by generating the currents proportional to the time widths of surface echos and bottom echos, integrating these current values by the number having been arbitrary set repetitive measurement periods and outputting the same.
CONSTITUTION: A transmission-reception part R/T is an ultrasonic wave exciting part to a probe Pb and also it converts the ultrasonic waves having been reflected from the material W under inspection and having returned to the Pb to electric signals and amplifies the same. F/F receives the surface echo inspection waveform SD from the surface of the material W under inspection and the first bottom echo inspection waveform SD1 as input timing and supplies the time interval created from the two echo intevals, i.e., the time (ta) corresponding to plate thickness as plate thickness information (a). A current adder A/C, which has the function of adding the currents proportional to the time corresponding to plate thickness at each repetitive period, is controlled by a timing counter T/C, reads out the integrated value (b) of that time with the read-out timing signal (d) from T/C and reset timing signal (c) and supplied the information to a thickness display DISP.
