Abstract
PURPOSE: To secure suitable heavy steering operation of a power steering apparatus by connecting the hydraulic reaction chamber of the apparatus to a tank side or a supply passage in response to the increase or decrease of supply amount to thereby suitably supply the hydraulic fluid at high speed time of low supply amount.
CONSTITUTION: When a vehicle runs at high speed to cause the engine speed to become higher than predetermined value, a pump 1 supplies reduced hydraulic pressure to a power steering apparatus 2 to thereby reduce the pressure difference between the front and the rear of an orifice 6, namely, between the chambers 9 and 10 of a passage control valve 7. Thus, a spool 8 is rightwardly moved by a spring 13 to cause annular grooves 14 and 16 to be superimposed. As a result, the hydraulic reaction chamber of the apparatus 2 communicates with a supply conduit 3 through a conduit 21. When the apparatus 2 is operated in this state, the hydraulic pressure in the conduit 3 is increased to be introduced into the hydraulic reaction chamber so as to thereby increase the steering resistance.
