Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve reliability and minimize probability causing stress corrosion crack of sheath tube by mixing coated particle shape nuclear fission material having coating film to contain EP gas within a part of fuel pellet.
CONSTITUTION: Slender diameter feeder 54 is provided for the low section of container 50 containing anhydrous n-hexanol, from which sol fission material 56 is introduced into n-hexanol 52. Anhydrous n-hexanol extracts water from sol fission material to produce nuclear fission microball and accumulate in the bottom section 58 of container. The produced particle is delivered into pipe and conveyed to the revolving type heater 64 to dry, which is then recovered into a proper container 68 allowing then for coating of silicon carbide. EP gas produced by nuclear fission of particle where a part of fuel pellet is processed by granular sheath treatment is contained within the particle.
