Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase measurement sensitiviyy of Cr<6+> and enable stabilization to be performed by maintaining the sample being measured alkaline and measuring its absorbance. CONSTITUTION:Liquid sample containing Cr<6+> is controlled of its pH preferably at 10 or over and is contained in a sample cell 3. Light from a light source 1 having transmitted through a collimator lens 2, cell 3 is split to luminous fluxes LR, LS by a half mirror 4. The luminous flux LS transmits through a measurement side filter FS of a transmission wavelength of 365nm which is most well absorbed by Cr<6+>. The luminous flux LR transmits through a comparison side filter FR of a transmission wavelength being the wavelength, e.g., 578nm, which is substantially unaffected by Cr<6+>. The intensity ratio of the light having been respectively measurmed and amplified by photoelectric multipliers PS, PR, logarithmic amplifiers As, AR is outputted as the absorbance signal proportional to the concentrations of Cr<6+> in the sample from a circuit 6 and is recorded in a recorder 6.
