Abstract

A method of measuring a density using a light absorption is disclosed. A light from a direct current light source(11) is passed or blocked by a shutter(12). The light from the shutter(12) is passed through a sample cell(14). The sample changer(15,16) changes a zero density fluid and a measuring sample fluid or a standard sample fluid. The interference component of the light from the sample cell(14) is removed by a light filter(17). The light from the light filter(17) is measured by a detector(18). The measured light is amplified by an amplifier(19) and the output from the amplifier is provided to a controller(21) wherein the density of the sample is calculated. The calculated density is displayed at a digital displayer(22).
