Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove moisture, hydrocarbon, etc. from gas, by expanding and temperature-reducing the gas with a thermal separator and thereafter conducting the gas into a gas/liquid separating drum.
CONSTITUTION: The moist gas is introduced from a line 1 into the thermal separator 11 so that the gas is expanded and its temperature is reduced. Then, the gas is introduced into the gas/liquid separating drum 4 wherein the moisture and hydrocarbon condensed by the temperature reduction are separated as condensate 3 from the gas. Hydrate 7, which is produced as the case may be, is molten in a heat exchanger 8' by the heat generated in the thermal separator 11.
