Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent fuel from being thinned at the initial stage of acceleration of an engine, by providing an intake pipe with a rich valve which is closed at that stage to thicken the fuel.
CONSTITUTION: The carburetor comprises a choke valve 5, a throttle valve 4 and a Venturi tube 6 having a main nozzle 7 connected to a float chamber 9. The valves 4, 5 and the Venturi tube 6 are located in the intake pipe 2. The rich valve 12 coupled to a rod 14 of a differential diaphragm appliance 13 is provided at the upstream side of the choke valve 5. A first and a second chambers 17, 18 defined by a diaphragm 16 are connected through conduits 21, 24 to a first and a second negative pressure ports 23, 25 which are located at the upstream side of the throttle valve 4 when it is entirely closed. A pressure difference is made between the chambers 17, 18 when the throttle valve 4 is located between the ports 23, 25 in the initial stage of acceleration of the engine. The valve 12 is closed depending on the pressure difference to decrease the intake air to thicken the mixture.
