Abstract

PURPOSE: A two-coat and one-bake coating system comprising a venturi structure for preventing the contamination of a hydrocarbon removal unit with coating mist and a unit for separating and removing unnecessary organic solvents.
CONSTITUTION: A two-coat and one-bake coating system, wherein an article is coated with a metal powder-containing base coating material to form a wet film, which is coated with a clear coating material, comprising (A) an exhaust channel of the clear coating zone in the coating booth separated from other exhaust channels, (B) a hydrocarbon removal unit provided in the exhaust channel other than the clear coating zone in the coating booth and at leat the primary zone in the drying oven, (C) a coating unit for atomizing the base coating material with air, and (D) a coating unit for at least automatic atomizing of the clear coating compound without using air.
EFFECT: Organic solvents discharged from the coating booth and drying oven can be reduced greatly.
