Abstract
PURPOSE:Guide plates are arranged across the total width of gas jet nozzles installed just below the surface of molten metal. Above the metal surface, at opposing location of the gas jet nozzles, another gas jet nozzle is placed pointing to both edges of steel belt. This equipment arrangement provides high-quality, uniform galvanizing. CONSTITUTION:Gas such as N2 is jetted from the nozzles 3 to raise zinc plating bath 1 avove the liquid surface 2. Raised liquid 6 is stabilized by the guide plates 4. Steel belt 5 passes parallel to the surface 2 and plated by touching the stabilized raised metal 6. Innert gas such as N2 is jetted from the gas jet nozzle 3' which points to both edges of the steel belt 5. This prevents molten metal climbing up on the upper face of steel belt 5 and completely eliminates metal deposition, providing high-quality galvanized steel belt 5.
