Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently activate used activated carbon which has adsorbed org. matter in a power conservative manner at low temp. by dipping the used carbon in an aq. soln. of oxyacids with high oxidizing power such as sulfuric acid and heat treating the dipped carbon with Joule heat generated by applying an electric current.
