Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove scale quickly at a low cost, by connecting the (+) terminal of a d.c. power source to a material to be treated such as welded part of stainless steel etc., and by rubbing the part to be treated with an insulating contact which is impregnated with an electrolyte and is connected to the (-) terminal of the power source.
CONSTITUTION: A decoloring contactor 4 which shows capillarity and has insulating top end 5, which can be inpregnated with an electrolyte, is connected to the (-) terminal of a d.c. source 6. When the part 2 to be treated of stainless steel 1 is rubbed with the top end 5 impregnated with an electrolyte, a current flows through a circuit consisting of lead wires 7, 8, so that an electrolytic reaction takes place at the contact part, simultaneously gas is generated, and the decolored portion is quickly separated from the body material because of the physical removing effect of the gas, decoloration being achieved.
