Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a method for production of base materials for optical transmission fibers, by forming a molten core galss by application of a transferring external heating and image heating in combination in a glass tube closed at the bottom to prepared a base material enriched internally with the material from the beginning to prevent refractive index distribution from drop off at the central portion of the core.
