Abstract

1362330 Lubricating valve gear MOTOREN - WERKE MANNHEIM AG 21 Sept 1972 [21 Sept 1971] 43827/72 Heading F1B A valve rocker comprises a first arm 22, Fig. 2 and a second arm fixed to a collar 21 and respectively co-operating at their free ends with an overhead valve and a push rod, an oil-feed rib 23 projecting in an axial direction of the collar and extending between the collar and the free end and a recess 25 formed in the collar end face for receiving oil from the gap between the collar and the rocker shaft and forwarding the oil towards the upper longitudinal surface of the rib. The rockers 3, 4 are retained by spring washers 16 and circlips 17 so that the spring washer closes the gap in the inlet rocker 3 but for the exhaust rocker 4 allows flow from the gap to the top of the rocker bracket and thence via the rib in the direction of the arrow 32 to the exhaust valve stem. The rockers may have oil feed ribs on both sides of the arm.
