2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, artificial turf has been widely used for poolside, baseball, golf, soccer fields, interior decoration and the like, instead of natural turf. Conventionally, as a raw material of the yarn used for such artificial turf, vinylidene chloride, nylon 6, polyethylene, polypropylene and the like have been generally used.

[0003] Among them, for example, vinylidene chloride is said to produce chlorine-based gas and dioxin when incinerated after disposal, although it has excellent properties required for turf yarn such as fatigue resistance, weather resistance and flame retardancy. , Environmental problems have been pointed out. On the other hand, olefin fibers such as polyethylene and polypropylene do not generate toxic gas during combustion, but have disadvantages in durability during repeated fatigue, weather resistance and flame retardancy. Also, although the durability of nylon fiber is very good, the problem is that its mechanical performance changes when dry and wet, and the characteristics as a lawn also change due to the absorption of water. There was a point.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The technical point of the present invention is to use polyester fibers having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.5 or more and having propylene terephthalate as a main repeating unit as a main component material of the artificial turf yarn constituting the surface of the artificial turf. To use. By using a polyester-based fiber as the main skeleton, it is possible to basically suppress moisture absorption and water absorption and suppress long-term deterioration accelerated by them. Furthermore, compared to polyamides, their use is also economical,
Since it is basically a polyester, it has an advantage that resources can be easily recovered and no toxic gas is generated even during incineration.

It is important that the polyester used in the present invention is a polyester containing terephthalic acid as a main acid component and trimethylene glycol as a main glycol component. Since the glycol component is trimethylene glycol, the artificial turf yarn composed of polyester having this as the main skeleton maintains good properties such as polyester hydrophobicity and is composed of polyamide fiber. It has extremely excellent flex fatigue and elongation recovery properties equal to or higher than that of the artificial yarn for artificial turf, and the artificial turf using the same has a good balance of various performances.

More specifically, the polyester in the present invention is directed to a polyester containing terephthalic acid as a main acid component and trimethylene glycol as a main glycol component. Further, a polyester in which a part of the terephthalic acid component is replaced by another difunctional carboxylic acid component may be used, and / or a part of the glycol component is replaced by the above glycol or other diol component other than the main component. It may be polyester. Examples of the bifunctional carboxylic acid other than terephthalic acid used herein include, for example, isophthalic acid, naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, diphenyldicarboxylic acid, diphenoxyethanedicarboxylic acid, β-hydroxyethoxybenzoic acid, p-oxybenzoic acid, adipic acid And aromatic, aliphatic and alicyclic bifunctional carboxylic acids such as, sebacic acid and 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid. Further, as the diol component other than the above glycol, for example, ethylene glycol, tetramethylene glycol, cyclohexane-
Examples thereof include aliphatic, alicyclic and aromatic diol compounds such as 1,4-dimethanol, neopentyl glycol, bisphenol A and bisphenol S, and polyoxyalkylene glycol. Further, as long as the polyester is substantially linear, a polycarboxylic acid such as trimellitic acid and pyromellitic acid, a polyol such as glycerin, trimethylolpropane, and pentaerythritol, 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid, and 3,5-dihydroxybenzoate Monomers having three or more functional ester-forming groups, such as acids, can be used. Further, a blend of the above-mentioned polymer or copolymer may be used.

A propylene terephthalate component having a content of not more than 50% of the whole cannot provide a material which is satisfactory in terms of flexural fatigue properties, elongation recovery and weather resistance. It is particularly preferred that 80 mol% or more of the repeating units are propylene terephthalate units.

The form of the fiber in the present invention may be a monofilament or a multifilament. In the case of the tufting process, it is usually preferable to use a product obtained by twisting multifilaments of about 500 denier in terms of performance such as appearance and durability. The cross-sectional shape of the yarn is not particularly limited, but is preferably an ellipse or a flat shape. In some cases, the shape may be a slit yarn obtained by cutting a film.

The artificial turf provided by the present invention is mainly composed of a polyester having a limiting viscosity of 0.5 or more whose main surface portion is propylene terephthalate as a main repeating unit and a strength of 4.5 g / d or more. It is characterized by being composed of a raw yarn for artificial turf having a breaking elongation of 15% or more, and the usage form of the raw yarn is not limited. Basically, the so-called tufted type artificial turf in which the above yarn forms a pile portion tufted to a woven or non-woven fabric such as polypropylene or polyester, or the original yarn for this artificial turf is cut into staples, and after laminating the web A so-called needle-punch type artificial turf which is needle-punched into a sheet shape may be used. In order to bring out the elastic recovery characteristics of the material, a tufted type is preferable.
