Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 主にダイヤモンドの表面領域のみが照射され、かつ、前記ダイヤモンドの 表面よりも深い領域により放出されるルミネセンスが、前記表面領域により生成 されるルミネセンスを不明瞭にするには不十分であるように、ダイヤモンド表面 を波長の大部分が225nm未満である紫外線で照射し、 前記ダイヤモンドの表面領域により生成されるルミネセンスを観察する各段階 からなる天然ダイヤモンドを合成ダイヤモンドから弁別する方法。 2. 前記ダイヤモンドの蛍光発光が観察される請求項1記載の方法。 3. 前記照射紫外線が遮断されてリン光が観察される請求項1又は2記載の方 法。 4. 前記ダイヤモンドの成長域の配置を示すパターンを同定する段階を更に備 える請求項1乃至3のうちいずれか1項記載の方法。 5. 前記照射紫外線は前記ダイヤモンド表面下約50μmの深さ内でその入射 強度の約13%に減衰される請求項1乃至4のうちいずれか1項記載の方法。 6. 前記ダイヤモンドは拡大手段を通して肉眼で観察される請求項1乃至5の うちいずれか1項記載の方法。 7. 前記ダイヤモンドの固定像が形成される請求項1乃至6のうちいずれか1 項記載の方法。 8. 主にダイヤモンドの表面領域のみが照射され、かつ、前記ダイヤモンドの 表面よりも深い領域によって放出されるルミネセンスが不充分で、前記表面領域 により生成されるルミネセンスを不明瞭にすることがないように、ダイヤモンド 表面を波長の大部分が225nm未満である紫外線で照射する手段と、 前記ダイヤモンドの表面領域により生成されるルミネセンスを観察する手段と からなる天然ダイヤモンドを合成ダイヤモンドから弁別する装置。 9. 請求項2乃至7のうちいずれか1項記載の方法と共に用いられる場合の請 求項8記載の装置。 10. 前記ダイヤモンドを観察領域に支持する支持手段を備え、前記ダイヤモ ンドの表面に放射を照射する手段は照射光源とレンズ装置と放射の所定の帯域の みを通過させるフィルターとからなる請求項9記載の装置。 11. 前記照射放射を前記ダイヤモンドへ導く操縦可能なミラーを備えた請求 項10記載の装置。 12. 前記照射放射を前記ダイヤモンドへ導く反射フィルタを備えた請求項1 0記載の装置。 13. 画像記録機を有する画像形成手段を備えた請求項8乃至12のうちいず れか1項記載の装置。 14. 前記照射紫外線を止める手段と、前記照射紫外線が止められた際のリン 光を観察する手段とを備えた請求項8乃至13のうち いずれか1項記載の装置。 15. 添付の図面を参照して本文中に大要を記述した合成ダイヤモンドから天 然ダイヤモンドを弁別する方法。 16. 図1を参照して本文中に大要を述べた合成ダイヤモンドから天然ダイヤ モンドを弁別する装置。 17. 前記ダイヤモンドに電子又は波長225nm未満の紫外線を照射してル ミネッセンス放出を励起し、 前記ダイヤモンドにより放出される放射を観察することにより、表面上の合成 ダイヤモンド領域が存在するか否かを検出する各段階からなる、ダイヤモンドの 表面上に合成ダイヤモンドの堆積層が存在しているか否かを決定する方法。 18. 前記ダイヤモンドは拡大手段を通して肉眼で観察される請求項17記載 の方法。 19. 本文中に大要を記述した請求項17記載の方法。
