Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a yarn useful for diversifying a stretch material, controlled in stretchability and capable of being woven in the same texturing procedures as those of a usual yarn when preparing for weaving and weaving and readily providing a highly stretchable woven fabric by using a yarn rich in stretchability as a core yarn and carrying out the covering processing of a water-soluble yarn on s sheath yarn. SOLUTION: A yarn 1 rich in stretchability such as an elastic yarn, e.g. a polyurethane-based yarn or a polyester elsatomer-based yarn is used as a core yarn 1 and the covering processing of a water-soluble fiber such as a polyvinyl alcohol-based fiber is carried out on a sheath yarn 2. Furthermore, the resultant composite yarn 3 is preferably used as a warp yarn to produce woven fabric.

EXAMPLE FIG. 1 shows a composite yarn (3) or (5) obtained by covering an elastic yarn with a core yarn (1) and a sheath yarn with a water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol fiber (2) as a warp yarn. When used and woven like a general woven fabric and scoured, the sheath yarn is eluted and the woven fabric exhibits elasticity.

As described above, the effect of the present invention is that a highly elastic elastic yarn can be easily used as a core yarn and a composite yarn using a water-soluble fiber as a sheath yarn can be used as a warp yarn. Weaving is possible, and diversification of stretch materials in each field can be expected.

A core yarn (1) is made of a highly elastic yarn such as a polyurethane-based or polyester elastomer-based elastic yarn, and a sheathing yarn (2) is covered with water-soluble fibers such as polyvinyl alcohol-based fibers.
