Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure a resting place for wild birds or a spawn place for fish and provide substitute for a green tract of slope surface without damaging a natural scene in dam having a variable level or in lakes and marshes having limited areas. CONSTITUTION: Floats 2 are mounted on a frame 1 having any external form. While the frame 1 is held under the surface of the water, a planting substratum material 4 consisting of vegetable fibers or synthetic fiber lumps is laminated on the frame 1 and float 2 to be held on the surface of the water. The lower and upper surfaces of the substratum material 4 are covered with nets 3a, 3b to be locked so that the substratum material is fastened to the frame 1 by fastening material such as a rope, wire and bolt.

2. Description of the Related Art With the progress of development, the destruction of nature such as the decrease of tidal flats, shallow waters and seaweed beds is progressing, and the resting places of wild birds and the spawning places of fishes are decreasing. In addition, since it is difficult to green the slope in dams where the water level changes, there is a shortage of green space, so artificial floating islands have been installed as a method of securing these.

Floating islands are required to be naturally compatible with each other. However, since the outer shape of a floating island in which the frame body is held on the water surface by a float is determined by the outer shape of the frame body, the frame body is linear. However, complicated shapes are required, and complicated processing is forced, and in order to make the frame less conspicuous, it is necessary to hide it between the frame and the water surface with a net, artificial grass, or fiber lumps. The increase in cost has become a problem.

When forming a shallow water on the floating island, it is necessary to separately provide a tilted frame body or to deform and tilt a part of the main body frame body, which also causes the frame body to be complicated and the cost to increase. (See Figure 7)

Since the plant fiber lumps or synthetic fiber lumps used as the vegetation base material have water absorbency and the lower part is soaked in water, the water necessary for the growth of the plant is retained, and the plant fiber lumps are entangled in the plant. Grows with roots. Since soil is not used as the vegetation base material, it will not be washed away even if it is washed by waves, rainwater, immersion, etc.

When the float 2 is attached to the frame 1, the water line is located in the middle of the float 2 attached to the upper surface of the frame 1 to maintain a stable freeboard, and the frame 1 is fixed below the surface of the water by the float 2. Hold at depth. Although the float 2 is arranged on the upper surface of the frame 1 according to the weight distribution of the floating islands, it may be additionally arranged on the lower surface if necessary. In this example, the float 2 is made of expanded polystyrene covered with urethane resin.
