TECHNICAL BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION For example, among the textbooks for elementary school students lent by the Ministry of Education, the saddle-stitched textbook has both bent ends of the binding needle exposed as it is inside the textbook. Since there is a risk of bending the bent end of the needle and pulling out the binding needle to break up the book or injuring the fingertip during mischief, the Ministry of Education has recently been using this kind of textbook for elementary school students. The saddle stitching means instructs to saddle-stitch from the inside of the book to the outside. However, this type of saddle stitch book, as is well known, is saddle stitched by a text folding feeder, a cover folding feeder, and a transport chain mechanism and a stitcher mechanism for each of the two parallel signatures corresponding to these, and a saddle stitching machine is used. And cut it into a book,
Since the reverse saddle stitch textbook as instructed by the Ministry of Education cannot be obtained by using the conventional device and folding the book as it is, the textbook maker is now using the reverse booklet as the reverse book. First, the front cover flaps are first collated with the transport chain mechanism by the cover folding feeder, and then the main text flaps are sequentially collated onto the conveyor chain mechanism, and then the stitcher mechanism is used in the same way as the conventional binding method. After binding, the entire saddle stitch textbook is bent again in the opposite direction, and the book is stretched with a cross tensioning machine over the entire length of the back of the book so as to cover the bent end of the binding needle that appears on the surface. I was getting a saddle stitch textbook. However, since the folds themselves are mechanically folded, the folds are strong and sharp, and the saddle stitch book obtained by stacking many folds with such folds is re-folded from the folds. On the contrary, folding is a difficult task, and it is impossible to completely reverse it along the first fold, so when you open the obtained book, the pictures of the adjacent pages do not match. There are many inconveniences, such as the occurrence of misalignment or the exposure of unnecessary parts on other pages due to misalignment. Especially in the case of maps and the like, it may not be possible to use it for learning due to inconsistencies in the lines between adjacent pages. There is a serious drawback, and in addition, there is a problem that the cost is increased due to the increase in the number of processes.

In response to such a problem, a hollow needle having a thread groove on the outer periphery is pierced upward from the lower side of a group of signatures which is operated on a chevron-shaped guide plate, and is discharged from the hollow needle. Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 47-29445 discloses a means for making a saddle stitch without using a binding needle by infiltrating a liquid adhesive to the piercing hole. It is recognized that the saddle stitch book obtained by this device does not expose the staples and the pictures are not damaged by the staples, and is safe and inexpensive by not using the staples. However, since the hollow needle has a screw groove, when the hollow needle is pulled out while rotating, inward folds are generated on the signature and the aesthetics such as pictures are impaired compared to when using the suture needle. Is large, and finish cutting is performed by three-way cutting before the liquid adhesive dries, pages of the center folding part are adhered, and the page is damaged at the time of opening the book. However, there is also a problem that the cost of books becomes high as a whole.

Furthermore, a saddle-stitching bookbinding apparatus using a saddle-stitching machine has a stitcher mechanism for saddle-stitching after stacking a stack of signatures on the upper side of a stack of signatures. It was the one that was bound. This kind of thing is bad looking because the binding needle appears on the back side of the cover. However, in recent years, there is a saddle stitch book in which only the cover sheet is glued later without saddle stitching the cover sheet with the saddle stitching machine at the same time as other signatures. A book without a bound cover was glued on the cover with another machine. This kind of bookbinding work is not only inefficient or expensive because it is divided into at least two books. There was an economic inconvenience such as a separate binding machine equipment requirement.

2. Description of the Related Art As a means for solving the above-mentioned problems, a reverse saddle stitching device disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 63-5900 and a front cover shown in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 3-29169 are saddle-stitched and bound together. The applicant of the present invention has proposed a saddle stitch bookbinding device in which the binding needle does not appear on the surface. In the former reverse saddle stitching device, the main body signatures and the front cover signatures, which are sequentially supplied from the folding machine (feeder) onto the chevron-shaped guide plate, are collated sequentially by the two parallel transport chain mechanisms. In a device for saddle stitching, which is operated by a stitcher mechanism that is provided along the line of the transport chain mechanism and that reciprocates a required stroke along this line,
A stitching member that constitutes the stitcher mechanism, and a stapling member that saddle-stitches a group of signatures from below is arranged on the lower side of the guide plate, and a crushing member of the staple corresponding to this stapling member is arranged on the upper side of the guide plate. Is.

In the former saddle-stitching device obtained by the former reverse saddle-stitching device, since both bent ends of the binding needle are exposed as they are on the back surface of the cover, the variation of the signature from the inside of the saddle-stitching book does not occur. Although it can be prevented, the bending ends of the binding needle appearing on the surface are in a state where children are likely to mischief, rather the risk of breaking the book apart or injuring the fingertips during mischief is increased. The task of being broadened is still left.

On the other hand, the construction of the latter saddle-stitching apparatus is such that it is horizontally traversed horizontally with respect to the machine frame, and is engaged with both upper sides of the rear end edge of the signature folded over at regular intervals. The required number of folding feeders are arranged above the upper side of the endless chain with the operator, and the stitcher mechanism is intermittently moved up and down on the lower side of this group of feeders. On the lower side of, a gluing device having a vertically movable elastic coating member that is in contact with the surface back side of the stack of folded plates that is moving and that applies a sizing material over the entire length is further provided.
A cover sheet feeder for supplying a cover sheet is arranged on the lower side of the gluing device, and the back side of the cover sheet is pressed to the lower side of the cover sheet feeder so that it can be moved up and down. A press roller having a V-section which is elastically mounted is arranged.

The saddle stitch book obtained by this latter device is
There is an advantage that the staples appearing on the back surface are hidden by the cover and a high-quality saddle stitch book can be obtained, but since both bent ends of the staples are exposed as they are inside the book, it is possible that the book is misled by children. The risk of injury to the roses and fingertips has not been eliminated. Furthermore, since the means for adhering the glue in this device is a contact type, there is complexity in the means for responding to changes in the wall thickness of the stacking stack group, and since the paste is applied over the entire length of the surface of the stack, When trimming the top and bottom of the saddle stitch book by trimming in the later process, glue adheres to the cutter and impairs the sharpness of the cutter, and the work of the entire machine including cleaning of the cutter is forced to be interrupted and the binding efficiency is impaired. There are inconveniences such as doing.
