Abstract

(57)【要約】 【課題】 間違った初期温度測定により融着不良を起こ
す問題点を解消し、継手の初期温度を常に正しく検出し
て、この検出値に基づき正しい融着作業の通電制御を行
なえるようにしたプラスチック管の接続方法を提供す
る。 【解決手段】 電熱線を埋め込んだプラスチック継手に
接続すべきプラスチック管を挿入し、電熱線への通電に
よって継手とプラスチック管とを融着するプラスチック
管の接続方法において、電熱線へ通電する前に、温度セ
ンサーで継手の温度を測定し、測定した温度の変化を監
視し、この温度変化に基づいて継手の初期温度を定め、
初期温度に基づいて継手電熱線への通電制御を行なうプ
ラスチック管の接続方法である。前記において、温度変
化があらかじめ設定された値以下になったときの温度を
継手の初期温度として検出する。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、内周部に電熱線を
埋め込んだプラスチック継手にポリエチレン等のプラス
チック管を挿入して継手と管を溶融接続するプラスチッ
ク管の接続方法に関するものである。
【0002】
【従来の技術】従来、温度センサーで通電開始前に継手
部材の表面温度を測定し、この測定した温度を基に継手
部材の電熱線への供給電力量を時間と共に制御する制御
方法が開示されている。この温度センサーは継手部材へ
の接続端子に組み込まれており継手部材に接続端子を接
続すると同時にセンサーで継手の温度を測定する。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】上記従来技術にあって
は、継手の電熱線へ電力を供給して管と融着作業を行な
っている間に、継手の温度が上昇するので温度センサー
も熱くなる。このため融着作業を終了後次の融着作業を
連続して行う場合、前回の融着接続時の熱が温度センサ
ーに残っており、温度センサーが周囲の温度にまで低下
せず、まだ熱い状態で次に新しく接続する継手の温度を
測定する場合がある。この場合正しい継手の初期温度を
測定できずに、実際より高い間違った温度を継手の初期
温度と判断し、この間違った初期温度に基づいて制御電
源部から継手の電熱線へ継手と管を融着する通電制御を
行ない、融着不足や過大融着等の融着不良を起こす問題
がある。
【0004】本発明の目的は、間違った初期温度測定に
より通電制御を行なって融着不良を起こす問題点を解消
し、継手の初期温度を常に正しく検出して、この検出値
に基づき通電制御を行ない正しい融着作業を行なえるよ
うにしたプラスチック管の接続方法を提供するものであ
る。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明の要旨は、電熱線
を埋め込んだプラスチック継手に接続すべきプラスチッ
ク管を挿入し、電熱線への通電によって前記継手とプラ
スチック管とを融着するプラスチック管の接続方法にお
いて、前記電熱線へ通電する前に、温度センサーで継手
の温度を測定し、この測定した温度の変化を監視し、こ
の温度変化に基づいて継手の初期温度を定め、この初期
温度に基づいて前記電熱線への通電制御を行なうことを
特徴とするプラスチック管の接続方法である。前記にお
いて、前記電熱線へ通電する前に、温度センサーで前記
継手の温度を測定し、この測定した温度の変化が大きい
か否かを判断し、この温度変化があらかじめ設定された
値以下になったときの温度を継手の初期温度として検出
し、この初期温度に基づいて前記電熱線への通電制御を
行なうことができる。また前記において、検出した初期
温度によって電熱線への通電完了温度を設定し通電制御
を行なうことができる。

【作用】本発明によれば、電熱線への通電開始前に温度
センサーで測定した継手の温度変化を監視してこの温度
変化に基づいて継手の初期温度を検出している。温度変
化が小さくなった状態のセンサーの温度は、前回の融着
作業時に熱せられたセンサーが今回接続しようとする継
手の温度と同じ温度まで冷却された温度である。すなわ
ち、前回融着時での熱の影響がなくなった状態の温度を
示し、これを継手の初期温度として検出している。この
ため、前回融着時での加熱されたセンサーの熱影響が自
動的に除かれるので、連続して融着作業を行なっても、
次に接続する継手の初期温度を常に正しく検出して、こ
の正しい初期温度検出値に基づいて継手電熱線への通電
制御を正しく行なうことができる。従って誤った初期温
度検出値による継手と管との融着不足や過大融着等の融
着不良が起こる問題が解消される。

【発明の実施の形態】以下本発明の一実施形態を図1な
いし図5を参照して説明する。図1において継手本体2
の内周面には、通電によって加熱する電熱線4が螺旋状
に巻かれた状態で埋設されている。電熱線4の両端には
コネクターピン7、7が接続されており、このコネクタ
ーピン7、7にはコントローラ5のコネクター6、6が
接続される。コントローラ5から電熱線4へ電流を通電
することにより電熱線4を発熱させ、電熱線の発熱によ
って継手本体2内に装着したプラスチック管1、1と融
着する。
【0008】3は例えば熱電対からなる温度センサー
で、継手本体2に設けた温度測定用凹穴2aに挿入して
凹穴底面の温度を測定する。センサー3は通電開始前か
ら継手本体2の温度を測定しており、通電開始前に測定
した初期温度に基づいて、通電を終了する通電完了温度
をコントローラ5内で設定し、通電開始後、継手本体の
温度が設定した通電完了温度に到達したら通電を終了す
るようになっている。
【0009】図2は外気温度と通電時間の関係を示す図
で、設定した通電完了温度を一定とすると、外気温度に
よって通電完了温度になるまでの通電時間が異なる。外
気温度によって最適な通電完了温度を設定し、この設定
した通電完了温度に達したら通電が停止される制御方式
の通電制御がコントローラ5内で行なわれる。また本実
施形態では図3に示すように、継手本体の凹穴2aに挿
入した一方のセンサー3の温度が設定温度に達しなくと
も、もう一方のセンサー3の温度が設定温度に達したら
通電が停止される。この方式により、一方のセンサー3
が継手本体の凹穴2a内へ挿入ミス等で測定不良があっ
ても、もう一方のセンサーで正しい温度測定が行なわ
れ、正しい温度測定が行なわれる。
【0010】次に通電制御の状態を図4、図5のフロー
チャートにより説明する。図4においてまず電源をON
にするとコントローラ5全体にリセットがかけられ、時
間表示が0にリセットされ、コントローラのコネクター
取付ランプが点燈する。そして2個のコネクター6、6
を継手本体2のコネクターピン7、7に接続すると、コ
ネクター取付ランプが消燈し、コネクター接続ランプが
点燈する。次に通電ボタンを押すと、通電ランプが点滅
を開始する。この状態ではまだ通電が行なわれず、セン
サー3の作動状態が調べられる。センサー3に断線があ
れば異常ランプが点燈し異常を知らせるブザーが鳴る。
【0011】センサー3が断線していなければ、ステッ
プ(イ)においてセンサーが継手本体2の温度を正確に
測定しているかどうかの温度変化が調べられる。ここで
センサー3自体が前回の融着作業で受けた熱の影響がな
くなり、温度変化が小になるまで待機される。すなわち
温度変化が大の時は(ロ)のループで戻り、センサー断
線の有無と温度変化の判断(イ)が繰り返される。セン
サー3の温度変化が小になると、ステップ(ハ)におい
て温度変化が小さくなった状態のセンサーの温度が、継
手の初期温度として検出される。この初期温度に基づい
てステップ(ニ)において通電完了温度が設定され、こ
の通電完了温度はメモリーに格納される。
【0012】続いてコントローラ5から所定の電圧がコ
ネクター6を介して電熱線4へ出力され、通電時間がカ
ウントを開始し、通電ランプが点滅から点燈になり、通
電状態を知らせるブザーが低音で鳴動する。そしてセン
サー3断線の有無、電熱線4ショートの有無、電熱線4
へ出力される電圧異常の有無、継手本体2の昇温異常の
有無が調べられる。異常があれば異常ランプが点燈し、
異常を知らせるブザーが鳴る。
【0013】異常がなく、リセットボタンが押されなけ
れば、前記継手の初期温度検出値に基づいて設定された
通電完了設定温度に到達するまでの間前記の異常の確認
が繰り返され、通電完了設定温度に到達すると、電熱線
4への通電が停止する。次に図5で示すように、コント
ローラ5内の回路が遮断し、通電ランプが消燈し、ブザ
ーの鳴動が停止し、変わって冷却中を示す冷却ランプが
点燈する。継手に応じた所定の冷却時間55秒が経過す
ると冷却ランプが消燈し、冷却完了を知らせるブザーが
高音で2回鳴り、コネクター取外しランプが点燈する。
コネクターが継手から取外されると、継手取外しランプ
が消燈し、接続ランプが消燈し、これによって融着作業
が終了する。
【0014】本発明は以上のように制御され、センサー
3の温度が継手本体2の温度を正確に測定しているかど
うかを、センサー自体が、前回の融着作業で受けた熱の
影響がなくなるまですなわち温度変化が小になるまでス
テップ(イ)で判断して、継手本体の初期温度を検出し
ている。このため連続して融着作業を行なっても、前回
の融着作業で受けた熱の影響がない、正しい継手本体の
初期温度を検出し、この正しい初期温度検出値に基づい
て継手の電熱線にコントローラの通電制御を行ない、正
しい融着が行なえる。

【発明の効果】以上説明のごとく本発明によれば、前回
の融着作業時に熱せられた温度センサーを用いて引き続
き融着作業を行なっても、前回融着時に受けたセンサー
の熱影響を除いて、次に接続する継手の初期温度を常に
正しく検出する。この正しい初期温度検出値に基づいて
継手電熱線への通電制御を行なうので、融着不良が生じ
ない正しい融着接続が行なえる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 電熱線を埋め込んだプラスチック継手に
    接続すべきプラスチック管を挿入し、前記電熱線への通
    電によって前記継手とプラスチック管とを融着するプラ
    スチック管の接続方法において、 前記電熱線へ通電する前に、温度センサーで前記継手の
    温度を測定し、この測定した温度の変化を監視し、この
    温度変化に基づいて継手の初期温度を定め、この初期温
    度に基づいて前記電熱線への通電制御を行なうことを特
    徴とするプラスチック管の接続方法。
  2. 【請求項2】 電熱線を埋め込んだプラスチック継手に
    接続すべきプラスチック管を挿入し、前記電熱線への通
    電によって前記継手とプラスチック管とを融着するプラ
    スチック管の接続方法において、 前記電熱線へ通電する前に、温度センサーで前記継手の
    温度を測定し、この測定した温度の変化が大きいか否か
    を判断し、この温度変化があらかじめ設定された値以下
    になったときの温度を継手の初期温度として検出し、こ
    の初期温度に基づいて前記電熱線への通電制御を行なう
    ことを特徴とするプラスチック管の接続方法。
  3. 【請求項3】 前記検出した初期温度によって電熱線へ
    の通電完了温度を設定し通電制御を行なうことを特徴と
    する請求項1または2記載のプラスチック管の接続方
    法。
