Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the compost having an action for inhibiting the germination of the seeds of weeds without affecting the growth of an original plant seedling by adding a preliminarily fermented product using a long chain fatty acid- producing microbe as a spawn to a raw material and then fermenting the mixed raw material. CONSTITUTION: A fermentation base material containing rice bran and waste mollasses in a total amount of >=50wt.% is mixed with a long chain fatty acid- producing microbe and then fermented in a humidity of 30-80wt.% and at a temperature of 30-70 deg.C under aeration for about 1 month. The preliminarily fermentation product is added as a spawn to a raw material containing livestock excrements in an amount of 50-80wt.% and then fermented in the water content of 30-80wt.% of the raw material at 30-70 deg.C under a condition of aeration for about one month to obtain the compost. If necessary, the fermentation product is cut back and further fermented under the same conditions for about one month.

BACKGROUND ART Compost is manufactured from raw materials of various plant substances or animal substances such as activated sludge generated during wastewater treatment, and further production residues generated in food factories. Generally, these composts are obtained by naturally fermenting the above-mentioned raw materials under aeration with the water content and temperature appropriately maintained. The method of naturally fermenting the raw material by adding the inoculum of the above is carried out. However, in the compost produced by such a conventional method, while growing the original plant seedling,
It has a drawback that it also promotes germination of weed seeds.

The compost thus obtained contains a large amount of long-chain fatty acids, especially saturated or unsaturated long-chain fatty acids having 12 to 22 carbon atoms. Although the original plant seedlings are grown, the seeds of weeds are grown. Suppresses germination. The compost can be used as it is as soil, but it can also be used as a mixture with other soil such as black soil.

Test Category 3 (Sprouting Inhibition Test) Compost / black soil of each example produced in Test Category 1 = 1/9
The soil was prepared by mixing at a ratio of (weight ratio). The soil was put in a plant box, and 20 tomato seedlings, 20 cucumber seedlings, and leek seedlings were transplanted for each, and 200 clover seeds, sorghum seeds, and Japanese pampas grass seeds were sown for each 200 seeds (test section). Separately, using only black soil as a soil, each seedling was transplanted and various offspring were sown in the same manner as above (target group).
The test section and the target section were allowed to stand at 28 ° C. under 250 lux conditions for 3 days, and the growth of each seedling was observed.
The germination suppression rate (%) was determined by observing the germination status of each seed. The germination inhibition rate (%) of the test plot was calculated by {(100-germination rate of test plot) / germination rate of target plot} × 100, and the germination rate (%) in this case was (germination grain number / 200) x 1
It was calculated as 00. The results are shown in Table 3.
