Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the end of a transfer ribbon to be detected by making the transfer ribbon so readily mountable that it can travel along a traveling path and, moreover, by no necessity of exceptionally great forces for driving the leader tape or transfer ribbon. CONSTITUTION:A leader tape 2 for detecting the end of a transfer ribbon R is provided on the delivery side of a transfer ribbon R wound round a delivery core 1, and then it is allowed to be wound round the outer periphery of the transfer ribbon R and, further, a guide tape 7 being mountable along the predetermined running path is provided on the delivery side of the leader tape 2. Prepared at the position between the guide tape 7 and the leader tape 2 is an adhensive layer 9 for tacking the transfer ribbon R in the form of being wound around the delivery core 1.

2. Description of the Related Art In a transfer ribbon for replacement, an adhesive layer for temporarily fixing the transfer ribbon wound around a pay-out core is provided on the pay-out end side of a leader tape before it is loaded into a cassette case or the like. In this case, it is necessary to peel off the adhesive layer that is temporarily fixed in advance, and to adhere this adhesive layer to a winding core, for example. There is a drawback that it is difficult to load the transfer ribbon so that the transfer ribbon can run along a predetermined running path because the transfer ribbon is easily released from the core. Therefore, conventionally, an adhesive layer for temporary fixing is provided at a position between the leader tape and the transfer ribbon to prevent the leader tape attachment part at the end of the transfer ribbon from being unraveled when it is adhered to the winding core, etc. When loading into a cassette case, etc., the leader tape is loaded along the specified running path while the transfer ribbon is temporarily fixed, and the adhesive tape is temporarily fixed as the leader tape is wound around the winding core. There has been proposed an exchangeable transfer ribbon in which a layer is peeled off and the transfer ribbon is loaded so that the transfer ribbon can run along a predetermined running path (see, for example, Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 4-50256).

According to the above-mentioned prior art, when the winding tape is rotated by the driving device such as a printer to run the leader tape, and the starting end portion of the transfer ribbon is detected from the leader tape, The running resistance of the leader tape increases when the adhesive layer temporarily fixed is peeled off. Further, when the leader tape is wound around the winding core, the adhesive layer for temporary fixing is wound around the end of the transfer ribbon of the leader tape already wound around the winding core or the winding core. The transfer ribbon will be re-adhered to the intended transfer ribbon and will be wound around the take-up core in that state. In the case of a multi-use replacement transfer ribbon that can be used again by traveling in the opposite direction using the feeding core up to the take-up core as the take-up core, the leader of the end portion of the transfer ribbon when the transfer ribbon is traveling in the reverse direction is used. In order to detect from the tape, the adhesive layer for temporary fixing and the adhesive tape with the leader tape or the transfer ribbon are attached so that the leader tape can run on the detection part such as the photo sensor. It is necessary to run the transfer ribbon while peeling off, in this case, the running resistance of the transfer ribbon is increased when peeling the adhesive layer. Therefore, according to the above-mentioned conventional transfer ribbon for replacement, in order to detect the end portion of the transfer ribbon from the leader tape, the winding core must be rotated with a sufficiently large driving force required to peel off the adhesive layer. However, it is necessary to enhance the driving capability of the driving device. Particularly, in the case of a replacement transfer ribbon in which the transfer ribbon wound around the winding core is run in the opposite direction and used again, the running speed of the transfer ribbon may decrease when the adhesive layer for temporary fixing is peeled off. From
There is also a drawback that printing defects easily occur. The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and the transfer ribbon can be run along a predetermined running path by devising the arrangement of the adhesive layer that temporarily fixes the transfer ribbon in a state of being wound around the delivery core. It is an object of the present invention to provide a replacement transfer ribbon which can be easily loaded and which can detect the end portion of the transfer ribbon from the leader tape without running the leader tape or the transfer ribbon with a particularly large driving force. To aim.

A characteristic construction of the present invention for achieving the above object is to provide a leader tape for detecting the end of a transfer ribbon wound around a payout core on the payout end side. Is provided, the transfer ribbon for replacement is provided with an adhesive layer for temporarily fixing the transfer ribbon wound around the pay-out core, wherein the leader tape is wrapped around the outer peripheral side of the transfer ribbon. A guide tape that can be loaded along the traveling path is provided on the feeding end side of the leader tape, and the adhesive layer is provided at a position between the guide tape and the leader tape. The rigidity of the guide tape may be greater than the rigidity of the transfer ribbon and the leader tape.

When the tape is loaded in the cassette case or the like, the guide tape is loaded along the predetermined traveling path while the transfer ribbon and the leader tape are wound around the feeding core and temporarily fixed by the adhesive layer. When the tape is wound around the winding core, the adhesive layer that is temporarily fixed is peeled off, and the adhesive layer of the guide tape already wound around the winding core or the leader tape that is about to be wound around the winding core. Adhering to the feeding end side and being wound around the winding core in that state, the leader tape and transfer ribbon can run along a predetermined running path without peeling the adhesive layer when the leader tape or transfer ribbon runs. Is loaded. When the rigidity of the guide tape is set to be higher than the rigidity of the transfer ribbon and the leader tape, the guide tape is unlikely to loosen in the ribbon width direction, and moreover, it can be easily deformed along the predetermined traveling path.

The exchangeable transfer ribbon according to claim 1 can be loaded in a cassette case or the like in a state in which the transfer ribbon is difficult to be unwound from the pay-out core, so that the transfer ribbon can be loaded along a predetermined running path. The leader tape or the transfer ribbon can be easily moved along a predetermined traveling path without peeling off the adhesive layer when the leader tape or the transfer ribbon is running. The end portion of the transfer ribbon can be detected from the leader tape without running. In particular, even when the transfer ribbon wound on the winding core is run in the opposite direction and used again, the end portion of the transfer ribbon can be detected from the leader tape without peeling the adhesive layer when the transfer ribbon runs. Therefore, there is no fear that the traveling speed of the transfer ribbon will decrease, and printing defects are less likely to occur. According to the second aspect of the present invention, it is easy to mount the guide tape along a predetermined traveling path when the transfer ribbon is incorporated into a cassette case for the first time or when the used transfer ribbon is replaced with a new transfer ribbon.

The take-up core 19 is attached to a predetermined position in the lower split case 12, and the guide tape 7 is temporarily placed in a state of being located outside the surrounding wall 16 and the left and right fixed guides 17. next,
When the guide tape 7 portions located on the left and right of the surrounding wall 16 are pushed inward of the case by the loading tool 21 having the U-shaped pressing portion 20, and the two divided cases 11 and 12 are overlapped, the guide tape 7 is moved to the left and right. It is loaded in a predetermined traveling path between the guide pin 15, the surrounding wall 16 and the left and right fixed guides 17,
When the winding core 19 is rotated from the outside of the case with a finger, the guide tape 7 is wound around the winding core 19 to remove the slack, and the adhesive layer 9 lightly adhered to the outer peripheral surface of the leader tape 7 is peeled off. , Winding core 19
When is further rotated, as shown in FIG. 5, the adhesive layer 9 adheres to the outer periphery of the guide tape 7 already wound around the winding core 19, and the leader tapes 2, 3 and the ink ribbon R are attached.
