脂製や木質の鉄筋L型鋼やパイプや丸太などが望まし
く、吊下げ材3に緊結して基盤7を保持できるものでよ
く、鉄筋の場合は線径6mmから22mm程度が望まし
い。網5は5mm×5mmから30mm×30mm程度
の網目で線径は0.5mmから3mm程度で材質は鋼質
や樹脂や天然繊維等が望ましい。固定方法として図に示
す鉄筋4にC型樹脂カップリング8を取付けた図であ
る。これに限定されず、縫製によっても良いし接着剤や
釘で固定しても良く、これらは材質や形状により異なる
ため様々な方法で固定して良い。場合によっては固定し
ない場合もある。図4はチェーン3に支持材4を固定す
る方法の例である。支持材4にフック付きのチェーン9
をとりつけておき、吊下げ材であるメインチェーン3に
取付けた図である。チェーン3・9の材質は鋼製、樹脂
製などで良く、線径は5mmから15mm程度でメイン
チェーン3は荷重を受けるために大きめのものが用いら
れ、支持材4のフック付きのチェーン9はポケット6の
生育基盤7の荷重をうけもつため小さなものが用いられ
る。図5は支持材4付網5に断熱材10を取付けたもの
である。断熱材10の目的は生育基盤7の乾燥を防ぎ、
温度の変動を緩和し、保水性を高めるためのもので、設
置の方法によっては水を溜める事も可能となる。設置箇
所は網5の表、網5の間、内側などが有り、長さを調整
することにより、I型、L型、J型などがある。厚さは
1mmから10mm程度で材質は樹脂製が多く用いられ
