Abstract

(57)【要約】 【目的】紙巻き煙草の製造及び／或いはフィルタ組立て
及び／或いは梱包機械上で、紙巻き煙草の開放端部の煙
草の葉の充填状態を検知し制御するための制御装置で、
煙草の葉の種類や色、等によって左右されない簡単で、
低いコストの光学装置を得る事。 【構成】焦点深度がほぼゼロのレンズ機構を使用し、そ
の焦点面に紙巻き煙草の端面を合せてその映像を作り、
これと基準映像とを比較してそのコントラスト値を出し
て、その合否を決める。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、紙巻き煙草充填状態光
制御装置に関する。特に、本発明は紙巻き煙草の製造及
び／或いはフィルタ組立て及び／或いは梱包機械上で、
紙巻き煙草の開放端部に煙草の葉が在るか無いかを見る
ための制御装置に関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】紙巻き煙草の製造及び／或いはフィルタ
組立て機械の出口で、及び／或いは紙巻き煙草梱包機械
の入口で、紙巻き煙草は、通常非常に多くの管理を受
け、その１つは紙巻き煙草の開放端部に煙草の葉が在る
か無いかを見る事である。
【０００３】大抵の場合、これは紙巻き煙草の前方開放
端部表面を照明するための光源と；前方開放端部表面の
イメージを生成するための望遠撮影機或いは類似の光モ
ニタ機を特色とする検知機と；モニタされたイメージを
受容し、それを標本イメージと比較するための比較機と
を具備する光コンパレータを使って行われる。比較機
は、通常、モニタされたイメージと標本のそれとの間の
相違が規定の限度を越えた際に排除信号の発信も行う。
【０００４】一般的に、２つのイメージ間の相違は、公
知のように、モニタされたイメージが煙草の葉が無いた
めに前方開放端部表面に隙間がある事によって変化する
微妙な相違の１つである。しかし都合の悪い事に、モニ
タされたイメージの微妙な相違は、前記隙間の存在だけ
でなく、採用された煙草の葉の色によっても大きく左右
される事が発見されており、その結果前述の型の公知の
装置は、別の種類の煙草の葉が使用される度に、長く
て、高いコストのかかる工程を伴う。
【０００５】
【発明が解決しようとする課題】前述の欠点を克服する
様に設計された簡単で、低いコストの光学装置を提供す
る事が本発明の目的である。
【０００６】
【課題を解決するための手段】本発明によると、紙巻き
煙草の充填状態を制御するための光学装置が提供され、
それが、センサと、光学手段の光軸に沿って固定位置に
アラインされ規定の焦点面と視野のほぼゼロの深度を有
する固定焦点光学手段とを組合せて具備するという事実
によって特徴付けられ、その焦点面は使用時に前記光の
軸とほぼ同軸に配置される紙巻き煙草の端縁部に正接さ
せられる。
【０００７】上記の装置は、好ましくは紙巻き煙草の端
部表面を照明するための光源を更に具備し；前記センサ
は、前記端部表面によって反射され、前記光学手段へ向
うビームを受容する様に設計されている。
【０００８】上記の装置の好ましい実施例によると、前
記センサはセンサによりまた規定の閾値以下で発信され
る信号に応答して排除信号を発信するための比較手段を
具備する。本発明の制限的でない実施例は、添付の図面
を参照して例示的に説明されるであろう。
【０００９】
【実施例】図１の参照番号１は、紙巻き煙草３の端部部
分２の充填状態を制御するための光学装置を示す。装置
１は、部分２の前方端部表面６に衝突するビーム５を発
信するための、またそこを照明するための光源４と；光
軸８と固定焦点９とを有する両凸レンズ７とを具備す
る。装置１は、レンズ７からの規定の距離Ａの所の焦点
面10と視野のほぼゼロの深度とを有し、紙巻き煙草３は
レンズ７に面し、軸８と同軸に置かれ、そしてその様な
軸の位置で煙草３の端縁部11は焦点面10に正接してい
る。
【００１０】装置１は、レンズ７に対して焦点９の反対
側に、紙巻き煙草３に対してレンズ７の反対側に、及び
レンズ７からの規定の距離Ｂの所に、軸８に沿って配置
されるセンサ12をも具備し、そのセンサ12は、レンズ７
を通して見られ、紙巻き煙草３の部分２の充填状態に釣
合う、表面６のイメージのコントラスト値の検知を行
い、例えば米国特許第ｎ． 5,107,337号明細書で説明さ
れる型のものの様な物であり得る。装置１はセンサ12か
らのモニタされたイメージのコントラスト値を受け入
れ、それを閾値のコントラスト値Ｃと比較し、入力コン
トラスト値が閾値よりも低い際に排除信号を発信するた
めの比較制御機13も具備する。
【００１１】図３を参照すると、実際の使用時に端部部
分２が充填されている時、即ち表面６が縁部11及び面10
と共面である平坦な面である時（図２ａ参照）、センサ
12は最大コントラスト値Ｄを検知する。逆に、部分２内
に何等かの隙間がある際には（図２ｂ参照）、表面６は
縁部11及び面10とは最早共面ではなく、その場合、装置
１の視野のほぼゼロの深度のために、センサ12によって
検知されるコントラスト値は、曲線14によって示される
様に、隙間の深さの増加と共に下がって、コントラスト
信号が閾値Ｃよりも下に下がる様な隙間の深さになる
時、排除信号の発信を決定する。

Claims (4)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 紙巻き煙草（３）の充填状態を制御する
    ためのものであり、それが、センサ（12）と、光学手段
    （７）の光軸（８）に沿って固定位置にアラインされ規
    定の焦点面（10）と視野のほぼゼロの深度を有する固定
    焦点（９）の光学手段（７）とを組合せて具備するとい
    う事によって特徴付けられ、その焦点面（10）は使用時
    に前記光軸（８）とほぼ同軸に配置される紙巻き煙草
    （３）の端縁部（11）に正接する光学装置（１）。
  2. 【請求項２】 前記光学手段（７）が少なくとも１枚の
    レンズを具備するという事によって特徴付けられる請求
    項１記載の装置。
  3. 【請求項３】 前記紙巻き煙草（３）の端部表面（６）
    を照明するための光源（４）をも具備し；前記センサ
    （12）が、前記光学手段（７）へ向って前記端部表面
    （６）によって反射させられたビームを受容する様に設
    計されているという事によって特徴付けられる請求項１
    或いは２の何れか１項記載の装置。
  4. 【請求項４】 前記センサ（12）が、センサ（12）によ
    ってそして規定の閾値より下で発信される信号に応答し
    て、排除信号を発信するための比較手段（13）を具備す
    る事によって特徴付けられる請求項１乃至３の何れか１
    項記載の装置。
