Abstract

PURPOSE:To further produce a panel by laying out mortar and reinforcements on a recessed part of glass bricks which are formed all over the periphery. CONSTITUTION:Glass bricks 10 are box-shaped with a bottom and no cover, forming a semi-circular-shaped recessed part 10b. A mold having a specified shape is prepared to manufacture the glass bricks. After a bottom mold and a shell mold are set, soda lime melts are injected into the molds, thereby reducing the pressure and starting press molding immediately. The glass bricks manufactured in this fashion, are stacked together in a specified shape so that the glass bricks may be turned in panels. Mortar 11 is placed in the recessed part 10b of each brick 10 while reinforcing bars 12 are built-in while the outer peripheral part of the panel is held with a stainless steel-made flat bar 13, which is a reinforcing metal fitting. The outer peripheral part of the flat bar 13 is further with a stainless steel-made outer frame 14. This construction makes it possible to prepare a glass brick panel which is similar to the design of the glass brick panel.

The glass brick is formed into a panel by fixing it to an outer frame or joint made of wood, metal or plastic, so that a convex portion is usually formed on its side peripheral portion. Further, a concave portion is formed at a predetermined position of the outer frame or joint, and a method of fixing the convex portion of the glass brick and the concave portion of the outer frame or joint by fitting is adopted.

As a building material for the purpose of lighting and makeup, there is also a glass block having a hollow box shape, and a plurality of these blocks are fixed to an outer frame with mortar or reinforcing bars to form a panel. However, they are widely used as exterior and interior materials for buildings.

[0007] For example, in the case of a building using a large area glass block panel, a window or an emergency entrance may be formed in a part of it, but if a window glass is used here,
There are times when it is not preferable because it gives a sense of discomfort in design. In such a case, if the relatively lightweight glass brick panel as described above is attached to the window or emergency entrance so that it can be opened and closed, the appearance will be similar to that of the glass block panel. Was still not enough.

In the glass brick of the present invention, the concave portion is formed over the side peripheral portion thereof, and by disposing the mortar and the reinforcing bar in the concave portion, a panel can be formed.
It will have the same appearance as a glass block panel. That is, the glass block panel has mortar on the outer peripheral portion and the joint portion, but the glass brick panel of the present invention also has mortar on the outer peripheral portion and the joint portion.

The shape of the concave portion formed in the glass brick of the present invention is such that, when a panel is manufactured, it is filled with mortar so as to prevent displacement of each glass brick. There is no particular limitation. However, it goes without saying that the shape must not at least reduce the strength of the glass brick.

FIG. 1 is a view of the glass brick 10 viewed from the back side. The glass brick 10 has a box shape with no bottom and a lid, and has outer dimensions of 190 × 190 × 40 mm. In addition, a semicircular recess 10b is formed in the side peripheral portion 10a.
The recess 10b has a width of 20 mm and a depth of 5 mm.

In the case of manufacturing this glass brick 10, first, a mold having a predetermined shape (a bottom mold, a cylinder mold, and a pressing mold) is prepared, the bottom mold and the cylinder mold are set at predetermined positions, and then the glass mold is placed in the mold. A method is used in which a predetermined amount of a soda-lime glass melt is charged, the mold is immediately lowered to press-mold the glass melt, and then the obtained glass molded body is taken out from each mold.

As is apparent from FIG. 2, the panel made of the glass brick 10 is very similar to the design of the glass block panel because the mortar 11 is located at the outer peripheral portion and the joint portion. Therefore, when this is used as a window or an emergency entrance formed in a part of the glass block panel, it does not give a sense of discomfort in design.
