Abstract

(57)【要約】 【目的】本発明は、ネットワークに接続されるマネージ
ャとエージェントとから構成されて、エージェントの持
つ情報を二重化構成で監視する構成を採る二重化監視機
能を持つデータ処理システムに関し、この監視処理をネ
ットワーク上のトラフィックの増加を招くことなく実現
できるようにすることを目的とする。 【構成】スーパマネージャを用意するとともに、スーパ
マネージャがマネージャとして動作するノードを認識可
能とする構成を採り、かつ、スーパマネージャは、マネ
ージャとして動作するノードの監視対象情報を入手する
入手手段７と、マネージャとして動作するノードの障害
発生を検出する検出手段８と、障害発生が検出されると
きに、入手手段７の入手情報に従って障害発生のマネー
ジャの監視対象情報を特定して、この特定した監視対象
情報の指す監視情報の監視を代行する監視手段９とを備
えるように構成する。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、ネットワークに接続さ
れるマネージャとエージェントとから構成されて、エー
ジェントの持つ情報を二重化構成で監視する構成を採る
二重化監視機能を持つデータ処理システムに関し、特
に、この監視処理をネットワーク上のトラフィックの増
加を招くことなく実現できるようにする二重化監視機能
を持つデータ処理システムに関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】ネットワークに接続される複数のノード
から構成されるデータ処理システムでは、マネージャと
して動作するノードと、エージェントとして動作するノ
ードとが定義されて、このマネージャとして動作するノ
ードが、ポーリング動作に従って、自装置配下のエージ
ェントの持つ情報を監視していくよう処理することがあ
る。
【０００３】このような構成を採るデータ処理システム
では、マネージャに障害が発生すると、その障害発生の
マネージャの監視対象となっていたエージェントの持つ
監視情報を監視できなくなるという不都合が生ずる。
【０００４】この問題点に対処するために、従来では、
複数のマネージャが同一エージェントの持つ情報を二重
に監視していくという構成を採っている。すなわち、マ
ネージャＡが、ポーリング動作に従って、エージェント
ａ，ｂ，ｃの持つ情報を監視するときにあって、別のマ
ネージャＢが、ポーリング動作に従って、このエージェ
ントａ，ｂ，ｃの持つ情報についても監視するという構
成を採っているのである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかしながら、このよ
うな従来技術に従っていると、複数のマネージャが同一
エージェントの持つ情報をポーリング動作に従って監視
していくという構成を採ることから、ネットワーク上の
トラフィックが増加してしまうという問題点があった。
【０００６】本発明はかかる事情に鑑みてなされたもの
であって、ネットワークに接続されるマネージャとエー
ジェントとから構成されて、エージェントの持つ情報を
二重化構成で監視する構成を採るときにあって、この監
視処理をネットワーク上のトラフィックの増加を招くこ
となく実現できるようにする新たな二重化監視機能を持
つデータ処理システムの提供を目的とする。
【０００７】
【課題を解決するための手段】図１に本発明の原理構成
を図示する。図中、１はネットワーク、２はネットワー
ク１に接続される複数のエージェントであって、所定の
データ処理を実行するもの、３はネットワーク１に接続
される１つ又は複数のマネージャであって、自装置配下
のエージェント２の持つ情報を監視するもの、４はネッ
トワーク１に接続されるスーパマネージャであって、マ
ネージャ３の実行する監視処理の代行業務を実行するも
のである。このスーパマネージャ４は、特定のマネージ
ャ３が兼ねることがある。
【０００８】各マネージャ３は、立ち上がり時に、スー
パマネージャ４に対してマネージャであることを表示す
る通知情報を送信する通知手段５を備える。一方、スー
パマネージャ４は、立ち上がり時に、ネットワーク１に
接続される全てのノード（エージェント２／マネージャ
３）に問い合わせることで、マネージャ３として動作す
るノードを特定する特定手段６と、マネージャ３として
動作するノードの監視対象情報を入手する入手手段７
と、マネージャ３として動作するノードの障害発生を検
出する検出手段８と、マネージャ３の監視処理の代行業
務を実行する監視手段９とを備える。

【作用】本発明では、スーパマネージャ４の特定手段６
は、立ち上がり時に、ネットワーク１に接続される全て
のノードに問い合わせることで、マネージャ３として動
作するノードを特定し、一方、マネージャ３の通知手段
５は、立ち上がり時に、スーパマネージャ４に対してマ
ネージャであることを表示する通知情報を送信する。こ
の構成により、スーパマネージャ４は、立ち上がり前に
動作しているマネージャ３や、立ち上がり後に動作する
マネージャ３も含めて、ネットワーク１に接続されるノ
ードの内のマネージャ３として実際に動作するノードを
特定することができる。
【００１０】このようにして、マネージャ３として動作
するノードが特定されると、入手手段７は、そのマネー
ジャ３に問い合わせることで、その特定された各マネー
ジャ３の監視対象情報を入手する。すなわち、各マネー
ジャ３がどのエージェント２を監視対象としているのか
ということと、そのエージェント２の持つ情報のどの情
報を監視対象としているのかということを入手するので
ある。このとき、監視情報に関してのパスワードが設定
されている場合には、それについても入手していくこと
になる。
【００１１】一方、このようにして、マネージャ３とし
て動作するノードが特定されると、検出手段８は、例え
ばポーリング動作に従って、その特定された各マネージ
ャ３に障害が発生したか否かを検出する。そして、監視
手段９は、この検出手段８による検出処理を受けて、検
出手段８が障害発生を検出するときには、入手手段７の
入手した入手情報に従って障害発生のマネージャ３の監
視対象情報を特定して、この特定した監視対象情報の指
す監視情報の監視を代行する。このとき、入手手段７に
よりパスワードが入手されているときには、監視手段９
は、このパスワードを指定することで監視情報を監視し
ていくよう処理することになる。
【００１２】このように、本発明では、エージェント２
に対してポーリングを実行することなく、マネージャ３
に障害が発生したか否かを検出していくだけでもって、
エージェント２の持つ情報を二重化構成で監視できるよ
うになることから、この監視処理をネットワーク１上の
トラフィックの増加を招くことなく実現できるようにな
る。

【実施例】以下、実施例に従って本発明を詳細に説明す
る。図１で説明したように、本発明では、ネットワーク
１に接続される複数のノードから構成され、このノード
がマネージャ３として動作するかエージェント２として
動作するとともに、マネージャ３が自装置配下のエージ
ェント２の持つ情報を監視する構成を採るデータ処理シ
ステムにあって、スーパマネージャ４を用意する構成を
採って、このスーパマネージャ４が各マネージャ３の監
視対象情報を把握するとともに、各マネージャ３の障害
発生を検出し、更に、マネージャ３に障害が発生する場
合にはその監視業務を代行していく構成を採ることで、
ネットワーク１上のトラフィックの増加を招くことなく
エージェント２の持つ情報を二重化構成で監視していく
ことを実現するものである。
【００１４】次に、図２ないし図５に示す処理フローに
従って、この本発明の動作処理の一実施例について詳細
に説明する。ここで、図２は、ネットワーク１に接続さ
れるノードが自装置の立ち上がり時に実行する処理フロ
ーの一実施例であり、図３は、スーパマネージャ４が自
装置の立ち上がり時に実行する処理フローの一実施例で
あり、図４は、スーパマネージャ４がノードから動作ク
ラス通知を受け取るときに実行する処理フローの一実施
例であり、図５は、スーパマネージャ４がポーリング周
期時に実行する処理フローの一実施例である。
【００１５】なお、以下、エージェント２と、マネージ
ャ３と、スーパマネージャ４とは、ＳＮＭＰの通信プロ
トコルに従って通信処理を実行することを想定してい
る。ネットワーク１に接続されるノードは、立ち上がる
と、図２の処理フローに示すように、スーパマネージャ
４に対して、ＳＮＭＰにおける一方通行の通信手段であ
るトラップに動作クラスを表示する拡張ＭＩＢを付加し
て送信する。すなわち、各ノードは、図６に示すよう
に、自装置がマネージャ３として動作するときは
“１”、エージェント２として動作するときには“２”
を付加したトラップをスーパマネージャ４に対して送信
するのである。
【００１６】一方、スーパマネージャ４は、立ち上がる
と、図３の処理フローに示すように、先ず最初に、ステ
ップ１で、ネットワーク１に接続される全ノードに対し
て、マネージャ３であるか否かを問い合わせる。次に、
ステップ２で、ステップ１の処理で特定されたマネージ
ャ３として動作するノードに対して、監視対象情報の送
信を要求し、続くステップ３で、このステップ２の要求
に応答して送られてくる監視対象情報を受け取って管理
テーブルに格納する。
【００１７】すなわち、スーパマネージャ４は、この図
３の処理フローを実行することで、立ち上げ時に、既に
立ち上がっている各マネージャ３がどのエージェント２
を監視対象としているのかということと、そのエージェ
ント２の持つ情報のどの情報を監視対象としているのか
ということを入手して管理テーブルに格納していくので
ある。この処理に従って、管理テーブルに、例えば、図
７（ａ）に示すように、マネージャＡは、エージェント
Ｍ＋１〜エージェントＮを監視対象とし、そして、図７
（ｂ）に示すように、そのエージェントＭ＋１の「×
×」というＩＤの情報を監視対象とするということが格
納されることになる。
【００１８】一方、スーパマネージャ４は、ネットワー
ク１に接続されるノードから動作クラス通知（図２の処
理フローに従って発行される）を受け取ると、図４の処
理フローに示すように、先ず最初に、ステップ１で、そ
の動作通知により特定されるマネージャ３として動作す
るノードに対して、監視対象情報の送信を要求し、次
に、ステップ２で、このステップ１の要求に応答して送
られてくる監視対象情報を受け取って管理テーブルに格
納する。
【００１９】すなわち、スーパマネージャ４は、この図
４の処理フローを実行することで、マネージャ３の立ち
上げ時に、その立ち上がったマネージャ３がどのエージ
ェント２を監視対象としているのかということと、その
エージェント２の持つ情報のどの情報を監視対象として
いるのかということを入手して管理テーブルに格納して
いくのである。この処理に従って、同様にして、管理テ
ーブルに、例えば、図７（ａ）に示すように、マネージ
ャＡは、エージェントＭ＋１〜エージェントＮを監視対
象とし、そして、図７（ｂ）に示すように、そのエージ
ェントＭ＋１の「××」というＩＤの情報を監視対象と
するということが格納されることになる。
【００２０】このようにして、この図２ないし図４の処
理フローの処理に従って、スーパマネージャ４は、立ち
上がり前に動作しているマネージャ３や、立ち上がり後
に動作するマネージャ３も含めて、ネットワーク１に接
続されるノードの内のマネージャ３として実際に動作す
るノードを特定することができることになる。
【００２１】一方、スーパマネージャ４は、所定のポー
リング周期に達すると、図５の処理フローに示すよう
に、先ず最初に、ステップ１で、マネージャ３として動
作するノードに対して正常動作中か否かを問い合わせ
る。次に、ステップ２で、ステップ１での問い合わせに
対しての応答が全て正常動作中を表示しているか否かを
判断し、全て正常動作中を表示していないという応答で
あるとき、すなわち障害発生のマネージャ３があると判
断するときには、続くステップ３で、その障害発生のマ
ネージャ３の内に前回のポーリング周期では障害の発生
していなかったものがあるか否かを判断する。
【００２２】このステップ３で、新たに障害の発生した
マネージャ３があると判断するときには、ステップ４に
進んで、上述の管理テーブルの管理データを参照するこ
とで、その新たに障害の発生したマネージャ３の監視対
象情報を特定し、続くステップ５で、この特定した監視
対象情報の指す監視情報の監視処理に入る。すなわち、
その新たに障害の発生したマネージャ３の監視対象とし
ていたエージェント２の情報を代わりに監視していくの
である。
【００２３】一方、ステップ３で、新たに障害の発生し
たマネージャ３がないと判断するとき、すなわち、ステ
ップ１及びステップ２の処理で検出した障害発生のマネ
ージャ３が前回のポーリング周期時にも障害であった場
合には、ステップ６に進んで、引き続いて、その障害発
生のマネージャ３の監視対象情報の指す監視情報の監視
を続行していく。
【００２４】そして、ステップ２で、ステップ１での問
い合わせに対しての応答が全て正常動作中を表示してい
ると判断するときと、ステップ５／ステップ６の処理を
終了すると、ステップ７に進んで、前回のポーリング周
期時には障害があったものの、今回のポーリング周期時
には障害の解消したマネージャ３があるか否かを判断し
て、このような障害復旧のマネージャ３があると判断す
るときには、ステップ８に進んで、監視処理を行ってい
たそのマネージャ３の監視対象情報の指す監視情報の監
視処理を終了する。
【００２５】このようにして、図２ないし図５の処理フ
ローを実行することで、エージェント２の持つ情報を二
重化構成で監視していくことになる。図８に、この監視
処理の具体的な処理例を図示する。この処理例は、図９
に示すように、スーパマネージャ４として機能するマネ
ージャＡがエージェント１〜エージェントＭを監視対象
とし、マネージャＢがエージェントＭ＋１〜エージェン
トＮを監視対象とするとともに、マネージャＢに障害が
発生して復旧していく場合を想定している。そして、マ
ネージャＢは、マネージャＡの立ち上がり後に立ち上が
ることを想定している。
【００２６】このような場合には、図８ので示すよう
に、マネージャＢが立ち上がるときに、マネージャＢ
は、マネージャＡに対して自装置がマネージャである旨
のトラップを通知してくるので、続いて、で示すよう
に、マネージャＡは、マネージャＢに対してマネージャ
Ｂの監視対象情報（監視対象のエージェント名、パスワ
ード、監視対象とする情報名）を要求し、続いて、で
示すように、マネージャＢがマネージャＡに対して監視
対象情報を送信してくるので、マネージャＡは、この監
視対象情報を管理テーブルに登録する。
【００２７】続いて、で示すように、マネージャＡ
は、状態監視ポーリングに対してのタイムアウトからマ
ネージャＢの障害発生を検出すると、管理テーブルの管
理データを参照することでマネージャＢの監視対象情報
を特定して、この特定した監視対象情報に含まれるパス
ワードを使って、この特定した監視対象情報の指す監視
情報（この例の場合には、エージェントＭ＋１〜エージ
ェントＮの持つ監視情報）の監視処理に入る。
【００２８】続いて、マネージャＢの障害が復旧する
と、で示すように、マネージャＡがマネージャＢに対
して状態監視ポーリングを行うときに、で示すよう
に、マネージャＢがポーリング応答を返してくるので、
マネージャＡは、マネージャＢの監視対象情報の指す監
視情報の監視処理を停止していく。

【発明の効果】以上説明したように、本発明によれば、
ネットワークに接続されるマネージャとエージェントと
から構成されて、エージェントの持つ情報を二重化構成
で監視する構成を採るデータ処理システムにあって、エ
ージェントに対してポーリングを実行することなく、マ
ネージャに障害が発生したか否かを検出していくだけで
もって、エージェントの持つ情報を二重化構成で監視で
きるようになることから、この監視処理をネットワーク
上のトラフィックの増加を招くことなく実現できるよう
になる。

Claims (4)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 ネットワークに接続される複数のノード
    から構成され、該ノードがマネージャとして動作するか
    エージェントとして動作するとともに、該マネージャが
    自装置配下のエージェントの持つ情報を監視する構成を
    採るデータ処理システムにおいて、 スーパマネージャを用意するとともに、該スーパマネー
    ジャがマネージャとして動作するノードを認識可能とす
    る構成を採り、 かつ、上記スーパマネージャは、マネージャとして動作
    するノードの監視対象情報を入手する入手手段(7) と、
    マネージャとして動作するノードの障害発生を検出する
    検出手段(8) と、該検出手段(8) が障害発生を検出する
    ときに、該入手手段(7) の入手情報に従って障害発生の
    マネージャの監視対象情報を特定して、この特定した監
    視対象情報の指す監視情報の監視を代行する監視手段
    (9) とを備えることを、 特徴とする二重化監視機能を持つデータ処理システム。
  2. 【請求項２】 ネットワークに接続される複数のノード
    から構成され、該ノードがマネージャとして動作するか
    エージェントとして動作するとともに、該マネージャが
    自装置配下のエージェントの持つ情報を監視する構成を
    採るデータ処理システムにおいて、 スーパマネージャを用意するとともに、マネージャは、
    立ち上がり時に、スーパマネージャに対してマネージャ
    であることを表示する通知情報を送信する構成を採り、 かつ、上記スーパマネージャは、立ち上がり時に、ネッ
    トワークに接続される全てのノードに問い合わせること
    で、マネージャとして動作するノードを特定する特定手
    段(6) と、上記通知情報により特定されるマネージャの

    に加えて、該パスワードについても入手していくととも
    に、監視手段(9) は、該パスワードを使って監視情報の
    監視を実行していくよう処理することを、 特徴とする二重化監視機能を持つデータ処理システム。
