By the way, in recent years, the bumper body has a structure in which it is housed in a recess formed in the side surface of the vehicle body so that the surface of the side portion of the bumper body is substantially flush with the side surface of the vehicle body. A structure that is designed to give a sense of unity with the vehicle body is often used.

In this case, as in the prior art described in the above publication, when a large gap is set between the side portion of the bumper body and the side surface of the vehicle body, the mounting work is performed so as not to hit them. Although it is easier, with the structure in which the side portions are housed in the concave portion formed on the side surface of the vehicle body as described above, it is very difficult to perform the mounting work so as not to hit them. That is, in the structure in which the side portion is housed in the recess as described above, as shown in FIG. 5, the front end portion of the bumper body 02 is inserted from the front end side of the recess 01 of the vehicle body to perform a predetermined attachment. After it is placed in the position, it will be fixed to the vehicle body. In this case, in particular, when the gap between the step portion 04 formed at the upper end of the concave portion 01 and the upper surface of the side portion 03 is set to be small, they will not hit each other. It's hard not to work.

As in the structure described in Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 5-5613, if a guide rail is attached to the vehicle body so as to guide the side portion of the bumper body during the mounting work, the bumper body as described above can be obtained. Although it is possible to avoid collision with the vehicle body, even with such a structure, if the gap between the upper surface of the side portion and the step portion is set to a small size, this small gap should be maintained. It is necessary to move the bumper body in parallel up to, and it is quite difficult to work without hitting both.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, a bumper mounting structure of the present invention has a center portion in which a metal bumper body is arranged on the front surface or the rear surface of a vehicle body,
It is composed of side parts extending from the left and right ends of the center part along the side surface of the vehicle body, and on the vehicle body side of the mounting position of the side portion, the surface of the side portion and the vehicle body side surface are substantially flush with each other. While accommodating the side portion, a concave portion having a stepped portion that abuts or approaches the upper surface of the side portion at the upper end is formed, and the inside of the side portion and the outside of the concave portion,
A slider is attached to one side, and a guide rail that engages with this slider in the vehicle width direction and slides and guides the slider in the vehicle front-rear direction is attached to extend in the vehicle front-rear direction, and the guide rail is When the bumper body is mounted on the vehicle body, it is formed in a shape in which the vehicle body front-rear end side is low, the vehicle body front-rear center side is high, and the shape changes vertically
The structure is such that the slider is inserted into the guide rail and the bumper body is attached to the vehicle body.

From this state, when the bumper body is moved toward the mounting position in the front-rear direction of the vehicle body, the side portions move along the concave portions on the side surfaces, and the slider moves while being guided by the guide rails. As a result, the guide rail is gradually displaced upward based on the change in shape in the vertical direction.

As described above, in the bumper mounting structure of the present invention, the slider is mounted on one of the inside of the side portion of the bumper body and the outside of the recess on the side surface of the vehicle body,
On the other hand, a guide rail that engages with this slider in the vehicle width direction and slides and guides the slider in the vehicle front-rear direction is attached by extending it in the vehicle front-rear direction. Since the structure is formed in a shape in which the end side in the front-rear direction is low and the center side in the front-rear direction of the vehicle is high and the shape changes vertically, the side parts are housed in the recesses so that the surface of the side part and the side surface of the car body are substantially flush. Therefore, even if a structure that improves the sense of unity between the metal bumper body and the vehicle body is adopted, when mounting the bumper body in the fore-and-aft direction, the gap between the side portion and the stepped portion at the upper end of the recess is Since the gap gradually becomes smaller, the bumper body is less likely to hit the vehicle body and damage the vehicle body.
