Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a color filter with excellent light resistance by forming colored layers on a transparent base by a coloring method, and providing a- protective layer on the colored-layers with a transparent metal oxide film. CONSTITUTION:A colored layer R of a first color is formed on a glass base 7 and then covered with an intermediate layer 8. A colored layer G of a second color is then formed in the same way. After forming a colored layer B of a third color, a protective layer 10 is formed in such a way as to cover the whole colored layer 9 already formed. In this case, the transparent metal oxide films on the first colored layer R and second colored layer G serves as the intermediate layers 8, 8'. Light resistance is improved even in the case of using acrylic resin for the intermediate layers 8, 8' and providing only the last layer with the protective layer 10 (transparent metal oxide film), that is, it is effective even with the intermediate layers 8, 8' such as acrylic resin entering between the colored layer 9 and the protective layer 10.
