Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce warpage, deformation due to variations in a temperature, a humidity, a density by providing a layer having high rigidity in a long side direction of a cardlike information recording medium for recording/reproducing information. CONSTITUTION:A layer 14 having high rigidity only in a long side direction of a cardlike information recording medium is provided in the medium for recording/reproducing information. For example, glass fibers are aligned in a sheetlike state in parallel as a rear board, and a vinyl chloride sheet is press injected thereto, thereby manufacturing a rigid sheet 14. A 0.4mm PMMA transparent resin board 11 having an optically recording layer 12 is adhered to the board through an adhesive layer 13 in such a manner that a long side of a card is parallel to a fiber direction, and punched in a size of a card to obtain a cardlike optically recording medium. That is, since it can be reversibly deformed against an impact from an exterior during carrying, an irreversible deformation, a crack, peeling, etc., scarcely occur.
