Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the adverse influence on a disk by taking thermal adhesive fibers which adversely affect to the disk into the liner by utilizing the thermal shrinkage characteristic thereof. CONSTITUTION:The surface layer part of the liner consists of cellulosic fibers 1 and the thermal adhesive fibers 2 having the thermal shrinkage are incorporated into the inside layer part thereof. Parts 2A, 2B, 2C of the fibers 2 are, however, exposed on the front layer part. The parts 2A, 2B, 2C of the fibers 2 come into contact with the disk surface and cause the damage of the disk and the generation of deposits if the fibers are used as a liner in this state, such damage and deposits lead to an error. The liner is, thereupon, subjected to a steam treatment to thermally shrink the fibers 2 and to withdraw the parts 2A, 2B, 2C of the fibers 2 into the inside and to annihilate these parts from the surface.

2. Description of the Related Art The exterior of a floppy disk is generally called a jacket and is made of vinyl chloride or ABS resin, and a non-woven liner is attached to the inside thereof. This liner wipes the floppy disk and blocks direct contact with the jacket to prevent damage to the floppy disk. Therefore, the performance required as a liner for a floppy disk jacket is cleaning and protection of the floppy disk, and various liners have been proposed for the purpose of improving these.

The present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view showing a state immediately after embossing at the stage of manufacturing the liner according to the present invention. It consists of system fibers 1 and contains heat-shrinkable heat-adhesive fibers 2 in the inner layer, but part of the heat-adhesive fibers 2 appears on the surface in the surface layer as shown by 2A, 2B and 2C. When used as a liner in this state, the heat-adhesive fibers come into contact with the disk surface, causing damage to the disk and the generation of deposits, which causes an error.

Next, the method for producing the liner according to the present invention will be described. First, a multi-layered card web is formed by disposing fibrin-based fibers in the surface layer and containing heat-shrinkable heat-adhesive fibers in the inner layer, and heat-bonding them. The non-woven fabric is partially heat-bonded by embossing with an embossing roller heated to a temperature not lower than the bonding temperature of the low melting point component and not higher than the melting point of the high melting point component in the functional fiber. At this time, the heat-shrinkable high-melting-point component in the heat-adhesive fiber is instantaneously heated, so that the heat shrinkage is suppressed to 5% or less.

After that, steam treatment is performed so that the high-melting point component having heat shrinkability releases internal strain and effectively heat shrinks. At this time, the steam treatment temperature must be set to a temperature above the heat shrinkage manifestation temperature of the high melting point component and below the melting point of the low melting point component in order to prevent re-melting of the already heat-bonded bonded portion. ..

When a fiber having a large heat shrinkage force as well as a heat shrinkage rate is used as the adhesive fiber having heat shrinkability, the fibrin fiber on the surface of the liner protrudes in a loop shape due to the difference in shrinkage rate from the fibrin fiber. It is possible to more reliably prevent the heat-adhesive fibers from appearing on the surface of the liner, and it is possible to obtain a liner having excellent dust retention.

Example 1 Rayon fibers (1.5 denier × 51 mm) were used as fibrous fibers, polyester with a melting point of 200 ° C. was placed in the sheath as the heat-adhesive fibers, and the core was heated at a melting point of 255 ° C. Using a core-sheath type composite fiber in which polyethylene terephthalate having a shrinkage of 35% was arranged, five cards were arranged in series to form a five-layer web having a basis weight of 35 g / m 2 . At this time, a web composed of 100% rayon fiber was placed on the first and fifth layers of the five-layer web, and the second and fourth layers were arranged.
A mixed web of 70% rayon fibers and 30% of heat-bondable fibers was arranged in the layer, and a mixed web of 50% rayon fibers and heat-bonded fibers was arranged in the third layer. The multi-layered web was embossed with an embossing roller having a surface temperature of 200 ° C. to form a liner partially having a thermocompression bonding portion, and then subjected to shrinkage heat treatment with steam of 100 ° C. for several seconds. The evaluation of the obtained liner is shown in Table 1.

Comparative Example 1 A liner was formed under the same conditions as in Example 1 except that the core-sheath type composite fiber was used as the heat-adhesive fiber instead of the fiber having a melting point of 200 ° C. and composed of a single polyester component. According to the liner of the present invention constructed as described above, since the heat-adhesive fibers which adversely affect the disk are taken into the inside of the liner due to its heat shrinkability, the liner hardly exists on the surface of the floppy disk. It has excellent performance as a liner for disc jackets.
