Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a rope connecting tool with which a wedge piece and a rope laid around the wedge piece can be drawn out from a rope socket safely and easily. CONSTITUTION:This rope connecting tool is constituted so that a rope 3 is laid around the outer circumference of a wedge piece 1 provided with a hole 1a, and the rope 3 and the wedge piece 1 are fitted into the insertion hole 2a of a rope socket 2 so as to firmly fix the rope 3. The rope socket 2 is provided with a long hole 2c to conform to the hole 1a of the wedge piece 1 in the lengthwise direction of the rope socket 2. For example, the bolt of a drawing jig fixed on a wall or the like is inserted into the long hole 2c of the rope socket 2 and the hole 1a of the wedge piece 1, and by applying external force on the extreme end of the rope socket 2 by means of a hammer, a hydraulic cylinder, or the like, and moving the rope socket 2 in the lengthwise direction, the part of the rope 3 and the wedge piece 1 are drawn out from the rope socket 2.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a rope connector suitable for a hoisting rope of a crane.

2. Description of the Related Art FIG. 3 shows a conventional rope connector, which comprises a wedge piece 1 and a rope socket 2. Wrap the rope 3 around the outer surface of the wedge piece 1 to form the rope 3 and the wedge piece 1.
The rope 3 is tightened by inserting into the insertion hole 2a of the rope socket 2. A hole 1a is provided in the wide portion of the wedge piece 1, and a connecting hole 2b is provided in the end portion of the rope socket 2 opposite to the insertion hole 2a. With this rope connector, the wedge piece 1 is extracted as follows. That is, the tip of the rope socket 2 (the end on the side of the hole 2b) is fixed to a wall, the ground, or the like, and the worker restrains the rope socket 2 from moving, and the rope end 3a of the rope 3 is hammered or the like. According to the present invention described above, when the wedge piece is pulled out, there is no need for an operator to hold down the rope socket, so there is no risk of injury due to a mistake in hammering, and the rope end is not hit. The wedge piece can be pulled out from the rope socket. Therefore, there is not much damage to the rope.

[Claims] 1. A rope connector in which a rope is hooked around an outer periphery of a wedge piece having a hole at one end side, and the rope and the wedge piece are fitted into a hole for inserting the rope socket to tighten the rope. A rope connecting tool, characterized in that an elongated hole that matches the hole of the wedge piece is provided in the longitudinal direction of the rope socket.
