It is publicly known in the publication No. In this case, an exterior material 1 is composed of an exterior panel 2 made of a steel plate and a heat-insulating/sound-insulating lining 4 lined with a main panel 3 of the exterior panel 2. Exterior materials 1,
Connecting protrusion 7 and engaging portion 9 for overlapping 1 to 2
are respectively provided, and a mounting piece 6 for nailing is vertically bent and protrudes from the upper part of the connecting projection 7.

A connecting protrusion 7 is formed extending upward at a position near the inner end of the main face plate 3, and a bottom wall 8 is bent inward from the lower end of the main face plate 3 to extend upward, and a groove-shaped groove is formed on the inner end side of the bottom wall 8. An engaging portion 9 is formed. When in use, the mounting piece 6 of the lower exterior material 1 is fixed to the flange 14 with nails N, and the engaging portion 9 of the upper exterior material 1 is externally engaged with the connecting protrusion 7 from above. , by fixing the mounting pieces 6 of the upper exterior material 1 with nails N, the exterior material 1
It adopted the form of successively overlapping each other.

However, the distance from the surface of the exterior material 1 to the rim needs to be constant due to the connection of sashes such as windows, but in the conventional exterior material 1, the connecting protrusion 7 and the engaging portion 9 The structure is such that they fit and engage on the inner end side of the connecting wall 5. Therefore, the joint spacing b formed between the upper and lower exterior materials 1 and 1, and especially the joint depth d, have to be small, making it easy for rainwater to enter during storms, making it difficult to obtain good waterproof properties. The problem was that there was no.

らの要請も十分に満足できなかつた。 Regarding the joint spacing b, a large gain can be made by setting the connecting wall 5 at a steep slope as shown by the imaginary line in FIG. However, in this case, it is necessary to reduce the vertical width of the lining body 4 or to form its upper end into a shape that follows the connecting wall 5, which may reduce the heat insulation/sound insulation effect and the deformation strength against external forces at the relevant part, or This leads to an increase in the manufacturing cost of the exterior material 1. In this type of exterior material 1, which aims to make the outer surface of the main face plate 3 flush in the finished state after construction, it is desirable for the joint spacing b and the joint depth d to be large for aesthetic reasons, for example, for the shading pattern. However, as mentioned above, the conventional exterior material 1 could not fully satisfy these requirements.

The connecting protrusion 7 is formed outwardly at an intermediate position between the upper and lower sides of the mounting piece 6, and the bottom wall 8 is bent inward from the lower end of the main face plate 3 to extend. An engaging portion 9 is formed in a continuous manner so that the connecting protrusion 7 can fit into and engage with the connecting protrusion 7 while rising upward from the continuous extending end.

By forming the connecting protrusions 7 continuously at the upper and lower middle positions of the mounting pieces 6, it is possible to obtain a joint depth D that is approximately equal to the distance from the outermost surface of the main face plate 3 to the innermost mounting piece 6, and the joint depth The distance B can also be made larger as the connecting protrusion 7 is positioned upward.

Horizontal type exterior material 1 of the present invention as described above
According to the above, a connecting protrusion 7 is provided at an intermediate position between the upper and lower sides of the mounting piece 6.
On the other hand, since the engaging portion 9 with which the connecting protrusion 7 can be engaged is formed extending from the connecting end of the bottom wall 8, the length corresponding to the amount of horizontal protrusion of the connecting wall 5 is extended. can be set as the joint depth D, and it becomes possible to set both the joint depth D and the joint interval B larger than in the conventional exterior material 1. Therefore, even under usage conditions where rainwater easily enters, such as during rainstorms,
It can prevent rainwater from entering and improve waterproofness. At the same time, even in the finished state after construction, shading appears prominently and an aesthetically pleasing appearance with a three-dimensional effect can be obtained.

In addition, in the conventional exterior material 1 shown in FIG. 4, since the inner surfaces of the lining bodies 4 are stacked with their inner surfaces facing each other during transportation, it is necessary to interpose spacers between the lining bodies 4 to prevent bending. However, such a pacer is also unnecessary.
