Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide block-like seedling beds hardly broken and permitting to surely and readily transplant seedlings by mutually binding soil particles on the surface portions of blocks with a binding agent, the blocks being prepared by forming grooves on a plate-like kneaded soil in a check pattern. CONSTITUTION:Check-like grooves 3 are formed on plate-like kneaded soil 1 in a seedling box 5 to prepare blocks 4 e.g. each having a bottom surface square of 25mmX25mm, a upper surface square of 20mmX20mm and a height of 30mm. Sowing holes 4a are formed on the blocks and a binding agent (e.g. polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution) 8 is sprayed on the upper surface layers of the blocks to bind soil particles on the surface layers with each other for providing the objective block-like seedling bed 2.

[Prior art and problems to be solved by the invention] Conventionally,
There was a seedbed made of plate-shaped clay with lattice-like grooves and blocks of a predetermined size arranged at predetermined intervals left, right, front, and back. If a transplanting machine is used to separate blocks of seedlings grown in this conventional nursery bed and transplant them, the beds (blocks) of the seedlings may collapse. In other words, the seedlings are separated and transplanted block by block with the bed section pinched from the left and right sides using a transplanting tool such as a bin set of a transplanting machine.
At this time, if the bed of the seedling is soft, the bed of the seedling will be crushed by the grip of the transplanting tool. In this case, the posture of the clamped seedlings may be disturbed or the seedlings may fall out of the transplanting tool, resulting in poor transplantation. On the other hand, in order to prevent mold layering on the floor,
There is a technique disclosed in Publication No. 01623. That is,
A compound that generates bubbles when heated (e.g., sodium bicarbonate) and a binder (e.g., polyvinyl alcohol) are added to the clay, mixed, placed in a mold, and heated to form a water-resistant, open-celled, sticky material. There was a block-shaped nursery bed tied together. Although this nursery bed is effective in preventing the bed from collapsing as described above, it is time-consuming to manufacture as it must be heated during the production process, and equipment for that purpose is required. This is a problem that is becoming increasingly costly.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail based on the drawings. 1 is mixed soil, which is made by mixing field soil with organic matter such as peat moss, leaf mold, and park compost, and adding water to it. 2 is a block-shaped seedling bed, in which grid-like grooves 3 are formed in the plate-shaped clay 1, and a plurality of blocks 4, whose upper sides are independent from each other and whose lower sides are connected to each other, are arranged on the left and right sides. These are seedbeds that are arranged in the front and back at a predetermined interval and are formed into a rectangular shape as a whole. Each block 4 has a truncated pyramidal shape that is quadrangular in plan view and trapezoidal in side view. The size of each block 4 is 25 mm x 25 mm for the bottom square, 20 mm x 20 mm for the top square, and 30 mm in height. In addition, as mentioned above, the blocks 4... are connected by plate-shaped clay having a thickness of 13 mm at the bottom, and the grooves 3... between the blocks 4... are 17 mm deep and shaped like a cv. The forming method is as follows: First, a predetermined amount of the drilled earth is placed in a seedling box 5, which is 30 cm long x 60 cm wide x 3 cm deep and is used for raising rice seedlings. Figure 1).Next,
A lattice-shaped groove molding convex portion 6a is formed from above on the mixed soil 1 in the seedling raising box 5.
... face downward and push in the block molding die 6 (
Figure 2). As a result, the 7-shaped groove 3... is 25 mm.
The blocks 4 are molded in a lattice shape at intervals, and blocks 4 are molded at predetermined intervals. Furthermore, the protrusion 7a of the mold 7 for molding the seeding hole
11. are fitted into the holes 6b of the block molding mold 6, and the seeding hole molding mold 7 is pushed over the block molding mold 6 (FIG. 3). As a result, seeding holes 4a are formed in each block 4. When the molds 6.7 are pushed in enough, pull up both molds 6.7 (fourth
Figure) The block-shaped seedling bed 2 is molded into the seedling box 5 in the manner described above. Now, the molded block-shaped seedling bed 2 is subjected to the following treatment. That is, a predetermined amount of the binder 8 is applied or sprayed onto the independent upper surface side of each block 4 . As a result, the block 4... is impregnated with the binder 8 to a predetermined depth from the upper surface toward the inside, and is dried after a predetermined period of time, so that the block 4...
The soil particles on the surface layer on the upper surface side of the blocks 4 are caked (Fig. 5), and therefore the surface layer of each block 4 is hardened and becomes difficult to mold. On the other hand, since the bottom side of block 4... is not coated with binder 8, the water poured during seedling raising will seep in through the bottom of the block, so the binder 8 will bind and harden. It is possible to prevent deterioration of irrigation performance due to a decrease in water permeability of the surface layer. Moreover, since the inside of the blocks 4 is not impregnated with the binder 8 to that extent, an appropriate density of soil particles is maintained during molding, and root extension of the seedlings is not hindered. Incidentally, as the binder 8, for example, an aqueous polyvinyl alcohol solution prepared to an appropriate concentration is used. To raise seedlings using the block-shaped seedling bed 2 manufactured as described above, first, an appropriate number of seeds S are placed in the seeding holes 4a formed in each block 4. Sow. Then, cover the seeds with soil,
Fill the grooves 3 between each block 4 with soil as shown in Figure 6. For grade 9, use a different soil from that for grade 1. Then, manage the seedlings by watering appropriately (Figure 7). The block-shaped seedlings A grown in this way are placed on a seedling platform T that reciprocates left and right of the transplanter, and are moved by a transplanting tool p such as a bin set of a transplanting device P that rotates vertically in an elliptical trajectory. , - The blocks are separated and transplanted from the left and right sides with their floor sections sandwiched in between (Figure 8). At this time, since the surface layer of the bed of the seedling is hardened by the binder 8,
The floor part will not be crushed due to the clamping of the transplant tool P. Therefore, the block-shaped seedling A is reliably held between the transplanting tools and transplanted to the field.

By simply applying a binder 8 to the surface of each block 4 of the nursery bed 2 formed into a block shape, a nursery bed 2 that does not easily lose its shape can be easily manufactured, and the block-shaped seedlings grown in the nursery bed 2 can be easily manufactured. Even if A is held by a transplanting tool P of a transplanter, the block 4 on the floor part is not crushed and is surely transplanted.
