Generally, a light emitting diode used as this type of light source uses a single LED body with a light emitting element inside, and only the light beam emitted from the front side of the LED body is used as an effective light beam. The light beam radiated to the side is completely wasted. Therefore, only a portion of the luminous flux emitted from the LED body is used, resulting in an overall dark light source.

An invention that effectively utilizes the luminous flux emitted from the LED body is an invention previously filed by the same applicant (Japanese Patent Application No. 59-270372). The invention of this prior application is superior in that it increases the overall illuminance, but in its configuration, the LED main body and the cap (reflective member) are loosely fitted or bonded using the same material. If the LED body and cap are loosely fitted, it is unsuitable for use as a light source that is subject to vibrations from the outside, such as a vehicle lamp, and it is not only time consuming to bond the LED, but also Since the main body and the cap are integrally fixed, if the cap is made of a hard material, the cap will expand due to heat and internal stress will be generated, and this internal stress will act on the LED main body, causing the LED to The light emitting element on the main body may peel off or the wire may break.

As a specific means for solving the above-mentioned problems, the present invention comprises an LED main body and a light-transmissive reflective member fitted into the LED main body, and the reflective member has a center portion into which the LED main body is fitted. A through hole is formed, and the back side is formed into a dome-shaped curved surface that reflects the luminous flux emitted from the side surface of the LED body toward the front side as approximately parallel light beams, and the dome-shaped curved surface is formed so as to be continuous with the curved surface and surround the through hole. The present invention provides a light emitting diode characterized in that a plurality of hook parts are formed inside the edge of the cylindrical part, and a slit of a predetermined length is formed in the cylindrical part along the length direction. By attaching a reflective member to the LED body, the utilization of the luminous flux is doubled, and by providing a hook part on the cylindrical part, the LED
The main body and the reflective member are in a stable state, and by providing the slit, internal stress due to thermal expansion can be absorbed.

A reflecting member 6 is integrally attached to this LED main body 1. The reflecting member 6 is made of a light-transmitting resin or rubber, and has a bowl-shaped overall shape.
The front side (the upper part in the figure) is flat and the back side is formed into a dome-shaped curved surface 7. A through hole 8 penetrating from the front side to the back side is formed in the approximate center of the reflecting member 6, and a cylindrical portion 9 is integrally formed protruding from the curved surface 7 around the through hole on the back side. A plurality of hook portions 10 are formed inside the edge of the portion. It is sufficient to provide two hook portions 10 at symmetrical positions on the cylindrical portion. Furthermore, at least one slit 11 is formed along the length of the cylindrical portion 9, and preferably the hook portion 10 is formed with at least one slit 11.
It is better to provide two slits in a state where they cross. In the case where the LED main body 1 is provided with a flange portion 1a, a stepped portion 12 is formed on the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical portion 9, with which the flange portion 1a comes into contact.

For the reflecting member 6 formed in this way,
When installing the LED main body 1, when inserting the LED main body 1 into the through hole 8 from the back side of the cylindrical part 9, the cylindrical part itself will move outward due to the elasticity of the material and the slit 11 in the cylindrical part 9. It opens and inserts relatively smoothly. When the LED main body 1 is inserted into the through hole 8 to the appropriate position, the flange part 1
a comes into contact with the stepped portion 12, and at the same time the hook portion 10
The cylindrical part 9 engages with the back side of the LED body 1 and does not come out, and the cylindrical part 9 is pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the LED body 1 with appropriate strength. Therefore, the LED main body 1 and the reflective member 6
They are integrated in a stable state without any displacement.

In the light emitting diode of the present invention configured as described above, the luminous flux a emitted from the LED main body 1 to the front surface is directly emitted through the through hole 8, and the luminous flux b emitted to the side surface of the LED main body 1 is emitted from the reflecting member 6. The light is reflected by the dome-shaped curved surface 7 and radiated to the front side as a substantially parallel light beam. Therefore, the luminous flux to the side, which was wasted in the past, can be effectively used.

Furthermore, even if the reflective member 6 expands due to heat, the slit 11 provided in the cylindrical portion 9 absorbs the stress caused by the thermal expansion, and the LED body 1 is not pressed unnecessarily. No internal stress is generated, and the light emitting elements or wires are not damaged.

As explained above, the light emitting diode according to the present invention includes a reflective member fitted into the LED main body,
By forming the back surface of the reflecting member into a dome-shaped curved surface, the light beam radiated to the side surface of the LED body can be taken out as a substantially parallel light beam to the front side by the curved surface, so that the light beam that was wasted in the past can be effectively used. It has the excellent effect of increasing the overall illuminance.

Further, by providing a cylindrical portion along the through hole and providing a hook portion and a slit in the cylindrical portion,
When inserting the LED body into the through hole, it can be inserted smoothly without wasting any waste, which not only improves work efficiency, but also allows for stable integration without mutual positional deviation due to the engagement of the hook parts. It also has the excellent effect of maintaining

Furthermore, since there is a slit in the cylindrical part, even if there is thermal expansion, it will be absorbed by the slit part.
It also has the excellent effect of not putting pressure on the LED body, and preventing damage to the component parts of the LED body due to internal stress caused by thermal expansion.
