Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an intermediate disposal place easily without constraint by the site selecting and environmental problems by a method wherein an outer hull is formed of a floating structure and provided with a ballast water adjusting means which can be sunk to the sea bottom and floated on the surface and a waste crushing device and a cycle of towing, sinking and operation is repeated. CONSTITUTION:The outer hull 4 made of concrete or steel is of box-like, floating purge structure and capable of being freely floated on the surface or sink by regulating the amt. of ballast water and, by a fine adjustment of the ballast water, the balance of the outer hull 4 can be retained and a hull-to-ground contact pressure can be adjusted. A foundation bottom plate 6 is towed and sunk integrally with the outer hull 4 and, after contact with the sea ground such as a soft ground, it functions as the structure having a slidable earthquake-proof mechanism between the bottom surface of the outer hull 4 and the sea ground. The dirt or container 18 transported by a boat or container ship 17 is unloaded onto a terminal by a gantry crane 10 and carried into a dirt pit 8 or container pit 17. Such dirt or container is sent from a hopper 12 to a dirt crushing part 9 to be crushed, sorted and reduced in volume, after which it is transferred to a final disposal place for treatment thereof.

Given the land and environmental problems that cities are currently facing, it is extremely difficult to construct new intermediate treatment facilities for incinerating waste or crushing and reducing the volume of waste in inland areas of cities. For this reason, the current method is to simply dispose of waste in a final disposal site near the coast, but this method is not the preferred method, and a drastic solution is needed.

This waste disposal structure has the above structure. The outer shell of this structure has a floating structure and has a means to adjust the amount of ballast water, so after construction, it can be towed to the desired sea area,
It can be operated as an intermediate waste treatment facility with ballast water injection, landing, installation, and garbage crushing functions. In addition, the ballast water can be discharged and resurfaced, and the installation can be relocated or disassembled and removed at the new location. The position of the center of gravity can also be freely controlled by adjusting the ballast water according to special needs such as tidal level fluctuations during towing, submersion, or operation.

Normally, garbage or garbage containers are transported overland by truck to a final disposal site, and then transported across a pier or the like to a treatment structure installed in the nearby sea area, where the crushed and reduced volume garbage is transported along its route. Follow the steps in the opposite direction and transport to the final disposal site for disposal.

■ Since it can be installed in the sea near the final disposal site, it can contribute to alleviating road traffic congestion by relying primarily on sea transport and reducing land transport. At the same time, it becomes very easy to transport the residue after intermediate treatment to the final disposal site.

In addition, if the foundation bottom slab is made into a double structure and a sliding seismic isolation mechanism is used as in the embodiment, in the event of a major earthquake, the inertial force can be suppressed to a certain value or less, and major damage can be prevented, which is preferable for the -layer. In addition to the garbage disposal function, the structure also has ancillary facilities such as fish farms, aquariums, tennis courts, seawater pools, etc.
It is also possible to provide public facilities such as a parking lot, making it possible to utilize the waterfront as a leisure facility.
