Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate a restriction on the design of a body and ensure less manufacture cost by providing an auxiliary lighting bulb emitting light through the aforesaid projection lens for illumination outside, within a case in such a way as to be positioned at an area excluding the passage of light emitted from a main illumination bulb. CONSTITUTION:Light M emitted from a headlamp bulb 16 is reflected at a reflector 15 and converges at a focal point F2. Thereafter, the light M diverges and enters a convex lens 14, thereby illuminating forward in a pattern of downward light distribution. Also, light S emitted from a position lamp bulb 17 enters directly the convex lens 14 and furthermore a part thereof enters the lens 14 after reflection at the reflector 15, thereby illuminating forward in a pattern of forward light distribution from the lens 14. Consequently, the headlamp device in the title can perform not only as a headlamp, but also as a position lamp, and it is unnecessary to provide an independent position lamp, thereby ensuring a high degree of freedom in the design of a body. Also, the position lamp can be constituted without any use of a separate convex lens or the like, and the quantity of parts can be lessened, thereby reducing manufacture cost.

(Prior art) Projector type lighting has various advantages such as being able to obtain a light distribution pattern with clear brightness and darkness, and in recent years, it has been
It is also used in vehicle headlights, as described in Publication No. 8701. The headlight disclosed in JP-A No. 63-158701 has a case attached to the front of the vehicle body, a spheroidal reflector at the rear of the case, a floodlight lens at the front of the case, and a light reflecting lens inside the case. A bulb is provided to substantially coincide with the first focal point of the mirror, and the light emitted by the bulb is reflected by a reflecting mirror and projected forward by a convex lens. Inside the case, a shielding plate is provided near the second focal point of the reflecting mirror where the reflected light converges, so that it can be tilted to the left and right.
The direction of light distribution is adjusted by making this shielding plate appear and disappear within the light flux, that is, within the light passage range.

(Means for Solving the Problems) This invention provides a case in which a case with an opening at the front is attached to the front of a vehicle body, a light projecting lens in the opening of the case, a reflector in the rear part of the case, and a light projecting lens and a reflector in the case. The light emitted by the bulb is condensed by a reflector between the reflector and the projecting lens, and then enters the projecting lens as diffused light and exits from the projecting lens. A headlight device for a vehicle that illuminates the front, wherein the case includes an auxiliary lighting bulb whose emitted light passes through the floodlight lens and is irradiated to the outside, and a light emitted by the main lighting bulb. The gist is that it is placed in an area other than the passing area.

(Function) The vehicle headlight device according to the present invention has a region where reflected light reflected by the 91 reflector converges and no light passes between the reflector and the projecting lens, and auxiliary illumination is provided in this region. Place the valve for. Therefore, the light emitted by the auxiliary lighting bulb can be reflected by the reflector and then emitted from the floodlight lens, and the light emitted from the auxiliary lighting bulb and the existing reflector or floodlight lens can be used to generate the auxiliary light, such as a position lamp. Or you can configure fog lights. Therefore, by assembling the headlights and auxiliary lighting lights such as position lamps, you can have great freedom in the design of the front of the vehicle, and you can also reduce the number of parts such as lenses or floodlight lenses, reducing manufacturing costs. can be reduced.

In the figure, reference numeral 11 denotes a hollow outer case, and although it is not shown explicitly in the figure, since this headlamp device is provided on both left and right sides of the front part of the vehicle body, the outer case 11 is also provided on both left and right sides of the front part of the vehicle body. The outer case 11 is open at the front, the outer lens 12 is fitted into the opening, and the inner case 13 is housed within the outer case 11 . The inner case 13 also has a hollow shape with an opening at the front, and a convex lens (projection lens) 14 is fitted into the front opening. This inner case 1
Inside 3, there is a spheroidal reflector at the rear.
15 is fixedly installed, and a headlamp (main illumination) bulb 16 is fixedly installed between the reflector 15 and the convex lens 14. The convex lens 14 and the reflector 15 are on the optical axis C.
The focal point f of the convex lens 14 is located behind the second focal point F2 of the lid 15, and the bulb 16
is arranged to substantially coincide with the first focal point F of the reflector 15. Although not shown clearly in the figure, this bulb 16 has a filament for a passing beam and a filament for running, and is connected to a circuit not shown. As shown by the dashed line in the figure, the light emitted by the bulb 16 is reflected by the reflector 15, converges on the second focal point F2, diverges from the second focal point F2, and enters the convex lens 14.

Further, inside the inner case 13, a bulb 17 for a position lamp (auxiliary lighting) is provided upright on the lower wall. This bulb 17 is located below the second focal point F2 of the reflector 15 and outside the area through which the light emitted by the headlamp bulb 16 passes (hereinafter referred to as the passing area). This bulb 17 is also connected to a circuit or the like and emits light when energized.

In the headlamp device of this embodiment, as shown by the dashed line in the figure, the light M emitted by the headlamp bulb 16 is reflected by the reflector 15 and converged on the focal point F2, and then spread out and sent to the convex lens 14. and illuminates the front with a downward light distribution pattern. Further, as shown by the two-dot chain line in the figure, the light S emitted by the position lamp bulb 17 is directly reflected by the reflector 15 and enters the convex lens 14, and from the convex lens 14 it is directed forward (optical axis). illuminates the front with a light distribution pattern (horizontal). For this reason, this headlamp device can function not only as a headlamp but also as a position lamp, and there is no need to provide a separate position lamp, giving you great freedom in car body design. The structure can be configured without using any of the above components, and the number of parts can be reduced to reduce manufacturing costs. Since the position lamp bulb 17 is disposed outside the region through which the light M emitted by the headlamp bulb 16 passes, the light distribution pattern of the headlamp is not affected by the bulb 17.
