Abstract

PURPOSE:To send and receive a consecutive signal in which the length of a modulation wave of each bit is variable by sending a 4-code form signal corresponding to each bit from a sender side, identifying the phase at a receiver side so as to demodulate the order of bits and the code. CONSTITUTION:Four code form signals are indicated in captions 1, 2, 3, 4 and a pulse bit string 5 of is sent and received sequentially from the left. In the case of sending the bit string 5, the leftmost bit is set as a 1st and an odd number order bit. Then a four-code form signal relating to the bit order and the bit level is sequentially sent, resulting in sending a consecutive signal 6. In the case of receiving the four code form signal, the phase of the consecutive signal 6 is sequentially decoded to demodulate the bit. Thus, lots of consecutive signals of variable length modulation waves are sent/received at a high speed.

First, for each pulse in the pulse train, four sets of formats are determined by combining whether the pulse position is an odd number or an even number and whether the bit code is 0 or 1. This is called its pulse pattern. Next, four different phases corresponding to the pulse styles of each of those four are set, which are called four-mode phases. Then, each of the four signals modulated with the four modal phases is
It is called a modal phase signal. Then, each of them is made to correspond to each of the pulse modes. To transmit the pulse train, first, the four-mode phase signals corresponding to the respective pulse formats are converted into continuous phase signals in the order of the pulse arrangement of the pulse train. Then, identical four-modality phase signals are not adjacent. and,
Transmit that continuous phase signal. The reception demodulates the transmitted continuous phase signals by identifying a four-modal phase that varies from pulse modality to pulse modality in the received order. Then, the transmitted pulse train is restored from the corresponding pulse pattern. That is, the patent claims include: 1) a method of modulating the pulses of a pulse train with four modal phases to produce a four modal phase signal;
2) a method of transmitting the four-mode phase signal as a continuous phase signal; and 3) a method of receiving it.
