Description of the Related Art Generally, veneer plywood has been used in many cases as a decorative material to give a beautiful finish to the interior of building frames and the surfaces of fixtures. The veneer plywood is preferably coated with a hard resin layer in order to prevent scratches, stains, and material deterioration on the outermost layer. The hard resin layer was colorless and transparent, and was also useful for imparting depth, gloss, or specularity to its surface.

It was not possible to completely prevent the occurrence of scratches. At the same time, since it is made of resin, it lacks nonflammability and heat resistance, or if it does have it, its performance is poor, and in this respect its function as a building material is not fully satisfactory.

The hardness in this cured state is incomparably higher than the hard resin layer of conventional decorative materials, and even slight impact or abrasion will not cause scratches. Furthermore, water glass is highly transparent and glossy, and can be easily colored as desired, and furthermore, various surface textures can be expressed by adjusting the viscosity. On the other hand, if a noncombustible material such as gypsum is used as the substrate, the decorative material as a whole will have a noncombustible function.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing the manufacturing situation of the present decorative material. The present decorative material can be manufactured by applying water glass 2 to a substrate 1. In this example, gypsum board was used as the substrate 1. Therefore, the surface of the substrate 1 to which the water glass 2 is applied is preferably flattened in advance by polishing or the like, and also coated with a sealer (undercoating material for sealing) to improve smoothness. Furthermore, as the pattern layer 3, printing paper,
It is also possible to give the substrate 1 an expression by laminating colored paper, veneer, woven fabric, non-woven fabric, resin sheet, metal foil, etc., or by applying paint.

2 to 4 mol of SiO2 is contained therein. The thickness of the water glass 2 applied to the substrate 1 can be changed as desired, but in order to make it thinner, the viscosity of the water glass 2 must be lowered to increase the spreadability during application. On the other hand, to make it thicker, increase the viscosity of the water glass 2 so that it can be applied thickly. water glass 2
The viscosity of the water glass 2 can be easily adjusted by changing the amount of water mixed. By gradually adding water and stirring, the water glass 2 can be adjusted to an appropriate state as it changes from candy-like to liquid-like. All you have to do is find it. Note that the water glass 2 can be colored from transparent to opaque by mixing a coloring agent (such as a pigment).

This is because by heating, the water content is easily removed from the water glass 2 after application, and its curing is performed quickly. The heating temperature varies depending on the material and structure of the substrate 1, the presence or absence of the pattern layer 3 (such as the above-mentioned printed paper or veneer), and the material of the pattern layer 3 applied to the surface of the substrate 1. temperature is 50-50
Select within the range of 0°C. However, water glass 2 is about 10
When heated above 00℃, it becomes vitrified, but since vitrified materials tend to become too hard to be used as building materials, it is necessary to avoid this situation. be. The heating method may be any suitable one, such as transporting the substrate 1 into a heating furnace using gas or other combustible materials, electricity, electromagnetic waves, ultrasonic waves, optical beams, etc.
Steam may be jetted onto the surface of the substrate 1, or the substrate 1 may be immersed in hot water. Note that when a heating method using steam or hot water is used, moisture is supplied to the substrate 1, so it is preferable to adjust the amount of moisture added to the water glass 2 to a small amount.

There is also the advantage of uniform quality. It goes without saying that in addition to this, manual methods using a squeegee or brush painting can be employed.

In this way, the configuration and shape of the present decorative material can be changed as appropriate depending on the mode of implementation.

Since the height is incomparably higher than that of a hard resin layer, even a slight impact or abrasion will not cause scratches. Of course, the ability to prevent dirt and material deterioration is also greatly improved. Water glass is also highly transparent and glossy,
If desired, it can be easily colored, and furthermore, various surface properties can be expressed by adjusting the viscosity. Furthermore, if a noncombustible material such as gypsum is used as the substrate, the decorative material as a whole can have a noncombustible function. Furthermore, since water glass is extremely inexpensive compared to hard resin materials and the like, it has many excellent advantages, such as making it possible to significantly reduce the manufacturing cost of the decorative material as a whole.
