Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a printed wiring board to be easily mounted independently of its thickness by a method wherein a bent contact member is provided so as to elastically press both ends of the board against a pair of conductive guides which are opposed to each other and U-shaped in cross section so as to insert the board between them. CONSTITUTION:A guide 5, which is formed of conductive material and U-shaped in cross section, is provided with a spring contact member 9 which is formed by lifting up a part of a side plate 7 by cutting and bent toward another side plate 6 into a hook. The member 9 extends so far as to make its end 11 protrude outward from a hole 10 of the side plate 6 before a board 4 is set. In this constitution, the board 4 is inserted between the guides 5 on both sides in the direction of an arrow B from a feed hook 2 and fixed by pressing it against the side plate 6 by the member 9. In succession, when the electroplating jig mounted with the board 4 is dipped into a plating tank as kept in this state and a current is fed, a current is made to flow through the board 4 via the hook 2, the side plate 6, and the member 9, as a result the copper foil pattern section of the board 4 is electroplated.

For printed wiring boards, after laminating and pressure forming the inner and outer layers in the case of a multi-layer board, or after attaching copper foil to the base material in the case of a single-layer board, the outer layer is removed by photo-etching. It is manufactured by peeling off the copper foil other than the pattern, electroplating solder, etc. on the remaining copper foil pattern, and then applying a protective agent.

However, since the conventional jig has a structure in which the board (4) is pushed horizontally into the contact member (3) in the direction of arrow A in Fig. 5 and held from both sides, it is difficult to attach the board (4),
It requires a lot of effort to remove, and it is very difficult to mount the board in a well-balanced manner on both the right and left jigs.Furthermore, the thickness of the board (4) to be mounted is limited, and the wall thickness is approximately 0.5 mm. There was a problem that it could not be used with thin substrates because the substrate would be damaged by horizontal pounding.

At this time, since the end of the contact member can be inserted into the hole provided in the side plate on the opposite side, the movement stroke of the end becomes large and appropriate strength can be obtained depending on the thickness of the board. Therefore, the board can be easily attached by simply inserting the board, and even a thin board can be easily fixed without being damaged, and the board can be held with appropriate strength. Also, the board can be mounted on the left and right jigs in a well-balanced manner.
