  1. 【実用新案登録請求の範囲】 車両の前端部に設けられ、超音波を送信しその
    反射波を受信して上記車両前方の障害物を検出す
    る障害物検出装置において、 上記車両の前端部左右両端にそれぞれ配設され
    、車両前方で超音波が平面視で交差する向きに設
    けられた一対の送信手段と、 上記車両のステアリング操作量を検出するステ
    アリング操作量検出手段と、 該ステアリング操作量検出手段によつて上記車
    両の軸心方向に対するステアリングの操作量が所
    定以上になつた時、そのステアリングの操作方向
    側の上記送信手段による測定距離を所定量以下に
    変更する測定距離変更手段とを具備してなること
    を特徴とする障害物検出装置。
