Abstract

PURPOSE:To readily obtain a napped nonwoven fabric excellent in durability without any disorder in design by superposing a design fabric on a nonwoven fabric, covering the nonwoven fabric therewith, placing the design surface down on a brush bed of a conveyor, taking out part of constituent fiber of the nonwoven fabric with needles in a processing machine and forming loopy napped fiber parts. CONSTITUTION:A design fabric 3 having a suitable pattern applied onto a surface of a plain base fabric is superposed on the surface of a nonwoven fabric 2 so as to cover the nonwoven fabric 2 therewith and the superposed assembly with the surface having the design of the design fabric 3 formed thereon down is fed onto a brush bed 11 of a conveyer 10 provided in a needle punching processing machine. Part of the constituent fiber in the nonwoven fabric 2 is taken out downward by passing needles 7 attached to a needle holder 6 of the vertically reciprocating processing machine through the nonwoven fabric 2 and the design fabric 3 to form loopy napped fiber parts 4. Thereby, the objective napped nonwoven fabric 1 is obtained.

(Effect of the invention) The napped fiber portion (4) of the napped nonwoven fabric (1) manufactured according to the present invention, which is configured like a ridge, is formed by splicing and raising some of the constituent fibers of the nonwoven fabric (2). Designed cloth (3)
Because the fabric is not made of fibers, the design on the surface of the design fabric (3) is not damaged by the napped process and is always clearly expressed, and this design is visible deep inside the napped NJ and fabric (4). This gives depth to the design and increases its commercial value, and even if the raised WL fiber section (4) falls over during use, the design will not be disturbed, and the design will disappear even after long-term use. Since there is no risk of damage, there are advantages such as improved durability.
