Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent air bubbles from contaminating into resin and enable correct transfer to be effected, and further making the precise control of lowering speed unnecessary by applying discontinuously UV curing resin in the form of spots on a coaxial circle of the center on a disc substrate and turning over the substrate and putting it on a stamper, and further irradiating UV rays so as to cure the UV curing resin, and thereafter separating it from the stamper. CONSTITUTION:A transparent glass disc substrate 1 is set on a turn table and, while turning it slowly, the UV curing resin is dropped on the substrate from a resin supplying device, whereby the UV curing resin 2 is applied discontinuous ly on the substrate 1 in the form of spots on a coaxial circle of the center on the disc substrate. And, the substrate is picked up and turned over and then moved to a stamper wherein it is lowered as being in parallel to the stamp er so as to be superimposed to each other and pushed slightly. And, by irradiat ing the UV rays from the upper part thereof and lowering the UV curing resin, the disc integrated with the finally cured resin is separated from the stamper.

Detailed Description of the Invention (Field of Industrial Application) The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a disc such as a so-called compact disc for recording music or a computer program, and in particular a method of manufacturing a disc such as a so-called compact disc for recording music or a computer program, in particular a method of supplying and curing a resin between a stamper and a disc base. This invention relates to a disk manufacturing method using a so-called photopolymer one-way or 2P method, in which a thin resin layer with a stamper recording surface transferred onto the disk substrate surface is formed.

BACKGROUND ART Conventionally, when applying resin to a disk base and superimposing it on a stamper, it is known that the resin is applied onto the base in a ring shape (doughnut shape) concentrically with the base. FIG. 2 shows a state in which the resin 12 is coated on the substrate 11 in an annular shape. This is detailed in publications such as Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 58-36417.

(Problem to be Solved by the Invention) The method of applying the resin in an annular shape onto a substrate has been said to reduce the amount of air mixed into the resin, but this is not perfect, and for example, it is difficult to incorporate air into the resin. Although it is practical in cases where a certain degree of transcription inaccuracy is acceptable,
In cases where extremely high transcription accuracy is required, such as in computer programs, there is still the problem of air inclusion, making it impractical.

Furthermore, when a substrate coated with resin is turned over and placed on a stamper, the substrate must be lowered while being tilted, and the speed of descent must also be appropriately controlled, complicating the manufacturing equipment.

The present invention is an improvement over the conventional method described above, and has been made in order to provide a disc manufacturing method that can be used in practice even when high transfer accuracy is required.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention comprises a step of discontinuously applying an ultraviolet curable resin in a dropwise manner on a disk substrate concentrically with the center of the disk substrate, a step of turning the substrate over, and a step of applying the ultraviolet curable resin onto a disk substrate on a stamper. This disc manufacturing method is characterized by comprising the following steps: a step of superimposing the stamper on the stamper, a step of curing the ultraviolet curing resin by irradiating it with ultraviolet rays, and a step of peeling off the disk integrated with the cured resin from the stamper.

(Function) In the present invention, since the ultraviolet curable resin is applied discontinuously in the form of droplets onto the disk base concentrically with its center, when the base is turned over and placed on the stamper, all the dripped resin The stamper hangs down like an icicle, and the contact area between the resin and the stamper is small, so there is very little risk of air being trapped. Since the resin gradually spreads from the contact point of each drop, transfer is possible without defects due to air bubbles. Furthermore, when the substrate is superimposed on the stamper, all the resin drops come into point contact with the stamper, so there is no need to lower the substrate while tilting it, and there is no need to carefully control the rate of descent.

(Example) A transparent glass disk substrate 1 is set on a turntable, and while rotating it slowly, an ultraviolet reducing resin is dripped onto the substrate from a resin supply device, as shown in Fig. 1. The ultraviolet curing resin 2 is discontinuously applied in a dropwise manner on the center and concentric circles. Then, pick up the base, turn it over, move it onto the stamper, lower it parallel to the stamper, overlap it, and press it lightly. Then, ultraviolet rays are irradiated from above to harden the ultraviolet curing resin. Finally, the disk integrated with the cured resin is peeled off from the stamper.

(Effects of the Invention) According to the method of the present invention, there is extremely little risk of air bubbles being mixed into the resin, and accurate transfer from the stamper is possible. Further, since it is not necessary to lower the substrate while tilting it, and it is not necessary to carefully control the rate of descent, the manufacturing apparatus can be made extremely inexpensive.
