Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は圧縮性を具備した断熱材、特に住宅用
断熱材として好適な溝付き発泡板の製造方法に関
する。
発泡ポリスチレンや発泡ポリエチレン等の合成
樹脂発泡体により作られた板状断熱材は、比重が
小さいわりに剛性の大きいことが特長であるが、
この剛性が大きいことのために、住宅の壁面や床
下面等に断熱施行する場合、施行時における寸法
上の差によつて正しく挿着することが困難になる
とか、断熱材を挿着した部分に隙間ができて断熱
効果を低下させるといつた問題がある。
このような問題を解決した断熱材として、圧縮
方向と交叉する方向に沿わせて多数の溝を板面に
設け、圧縮性を付与した溝付き発泡板が知られて
いるが、この溝付き発泡板を製造する場合には次
に述べるように重要な問題がある。
一般に、発泡体を切断する作業にはニクロム線
等の電熱線を利用する方法が知られているが、本
発明の対象としている溝付き発泡板を製造するに
は、発泡板の少なくとも片面側に板厚の1/2〜4/5
の深さで幅が0.3〜2.0mm程度の溝を多数同時に設
ける関係上、電熱線による公知の切断方法をその
まま本発明に適用することはできない。即ち、板
面に上記のような溝を形成する場合には、発熱し
た電熱線によつて所要の深さに溝を形成したら、
この電熱線を引上げて板面から離間させる必要が
ある。この電熱線の引上げ時に、該電熱線により
加熱された発泡板は湾曲し、この湾曲によつて発
泡板は正規の部分をも溶断されてしまうといつた
不具合いを生ずるし、また、発熱している電熱線
は伸び易く、この電熱線が発泡板に接して発泡板
の溶断が開始すると、発泡板はその両縁端部側に
較べ中間部分は遅れて溶断されるため、両縁端部
側の加熱時間が長くなることは避けられず、加え
て電熱線自体も中間部分より両端部分が高温であ
るから、発泡板の中間部分が所定の深さに溶断し
終る時点では両縁端部側の溶断が更に進行してし
まい、該部分の溝底が不当に幅広く形成される不
具合いを生ずる。そのため、製品は溝の形状が全
長にわたつて均一化できず、断熱材として用いた
場合に外観が悪くなるし、所要の断熱性能を得る
こともできないおそれがある。
そこで、本発明はこのような問題を全面的に解
消し、所望の安定した溝を常に正しく形成できる
新規な溝付き発泡板の製造方法を提供しようとす
るものであつて、その技術的要件とするところは
合成樹脂発泡板上に該発泡板と交叉するように配
置された電熱線を用い、この電熱線を発熱させて
合成樹脂発泡板に押しあて、合成樹脂発泡板に溝
を形成する段階において、合成樹脂発泡板の両縁
端より食み出た電熱線の部分を冷却し、かつ、合
成樹脂発泡板に対する電熱線の押しあて開始から
合成樹脂発泡板より電熱線の後退が完了するまで
の間電熱線の押しあて側より合成樹脂発泡板を押
圧して溝付き発泡板を製造することにある。この
製造方法によれば、合成樹脂発泡板の湾曲するこ
と、及び形成される溝の両端部分が必要以上に加
熱されることを完全に防止できて、第1図に示す
如く全深さ又は全長にわたつて溝aの幅が均一に
形成され、断熱性能の良好な溝付き発泡板Pを製
造することが可能となる。
次に、本発明製造方法を実施するために用いる
装置について説明する。
受台1上に被加工物の支持台2を取付け、受台
1の左右両縁部に固定して支柱3,3には調節環
4,4を嵌装し、この調節環4,4を摺動させて
後述する支持枠の降下位置を規制する。調節環
4,4は止めビス5,5によつてその調節位置に
固定される。
支持枠6は、その左右両縁部に設けた嵌合部
7,7を支柱3,3に嵌装することによつて該支
柱3,3に昇降自在に取付けてあり、前述したよ
うに嵌合部7,7の下部が調節環4,4を突き当
つて停止する。支持枠6内には電熱線8を水平状
態に横架し、図示省略したが、この電熱線8は支
持枠6の奥行き方向に間隔を置いて平行に多数本
横架されており、各電熱線8の両端はそれぞれ共
通した電極9,9に接続され、その延長部分は絶
縁体10,10を介して支持杆11,11に連結
されている。
支持杆11,11は支持枠6上に固定した案内
金具12,12を貫通して突出し、この案内金具
12,12と支持杆11,11上にビス13,1
3止めした止め金具14,14との間にコイルス
プリング15,15を嵌装して、電熱線8に常時
張力を働かしている。また、支持枠6にはコイル
スプリング16,16の作用下に置かれた押圧杆
17,17を昇降自在に吊設してあり、この押圧
杆17,17は下端部が常時は電熱線8の若干下
側に位置するよう設定されており、各下端部には
押圧盤17a,17bを取付けてある。更に、支
持枠6内には、支持台2の左右両端部近くに位置
させて電熱線8に冷却空気を噴射するための噴射
管18,18を配置してある。
なお、図示説明は省略したが、支持枠6は通常
の昇降機構により昇降動作し、その昇降位置で自
動的に停止できる手段が採用され、また、電熱線
8の通電及び噴射管18,18からの冷却用空気
噴射も支持枠6の昇降動作に同調させる通常の制
御手段が採用される。
上記の如く構成されている装置により本発明製
造方法を実施するには、先ず、第2図に示す如く
支持台2上に被加工板である合成樹脂発泡板P′を
載置し、支持枠6を降下させる。支持枠6の降下
により電熱線8が合成樹脂発泡板に押しあたる
と、押圧盤17a,17aも合成樹脂発泡板P′上
に当接し、合成樹脂発泡板P′押圧する。この動作
時に電熱線8は通電により発熱し、また噴射管1
8,18より冷却用空気が噴射される。この状態
で支持枠6が降下すると、電熱線8によつて合成
樹脂発泡板P′は溶断されて溝を形成できることに
なる。次いで、第3図に示す位置で支持枠6を停
止させ、支持枠6を直ちに上昇させて合成樹脂発
泡板P′より後退させれば、所望の深さの溝を合成
樹脂発泡板P′に形成できる。この溝加工時に合成
樹脂発泡板P′は押圧作用下に置かれているため、
電熱線8の後退時に湾曲することが防止され、ま
た、合成樹脂発泡板P′の左右両縁端部より食み出
た電熱線8の部分8aは冷却下に置かれているた
め、合成樹脂発泡板P′の左右両縁端部側が中間部
分より過剰に加熱されるといつた不具合いも解消
され、合成樹脂発泡板P′に形成された溝の形状は
全長にわたつて安定し、溝の横幅がテーパー状に
拡がつて形成されるとか、溝の底部両端部側が中
間部分より不当に幅広く形成されるといつた変形
部分の全く生じない溝付き発泡板を製造できた。
本発明は上記の如くであつて、溝の全深さ又は
全長にわたつて横幅が安定し、断熱性能を低下さ
せない溝付き発泡板を簡単に製造できる利点があ
り、その製造装置も容易に提供できる点と相俟つ
て、実用的価値は極めて多大である。
なお、図示説明は省略したが、電熱線8の支持
手段としては剛性及び断熱性等を有する支持体
(例えばフツソ樹脂製)を昇降自在に設け、この
支持体の下端に電熱線8を直接張設してもよく、
この場合、支持体の肉厚は電熱線8の外径とほぼ
同一であることが望ましい。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1 合成樹脂発泡板上に該発泡板と交叉するよう
    に配置された電熱線を用い、この電熱線を発熱さ
    せて合成樹脂発泡板に押しあて、合成樹脂発泡板
    に溝を形成する段階において、合成樹脂発泡板の
    両縁端より食み出た電熱線の部分を冷却し、か
    つ、合成樹脂発泡板に対する電熱線の押しあて開
    始から合成樹脂発泡板より電熱線の後退が完了す
    るまでの間電熱線の押しあて側より合成樹脂発泡
    板を押圧することを特徴とする溝付き発泡板の製
    造方法。
