つていた。そしてこのものにあつては、ガラス粒
によつて天然大理石特有の結晶粒子模様を表現し
ようとするものである。しかしながら、シベツ
ク、ビアンコベネートといつた結晶粒子模様を有
する天然大理石における結晶面の光の反射による
きらめき感をこのものでは表現することは不可能
である。すなわち、不飽和ポリエステル樹脂の屈
折率が1.55であるのに対してガラス粒は1.57、石
英粒は1.55で屈折率が類似しており、不飽和ポリ
エステル樹脂に混入した粒子の表面での光の反射
が起こりにくく、従つてきらめき感のある結晶模
様の表現ができないのである。

えば、不飽和ポリエステル樹脂100重量部に砕石
を100〜400重量部、硬化剤を0.2〜2.0重量部、ナ
フテン酸コバルトなどの硬化促進剤を0.2〜2.0重
量部配合するのが好ましく、最大部分の直径が3
mmの寒水石砕石を用いた場合の具体例を拳げる
と、不飽和ポリエステル樹脂100重量部に寒水石
砕石を250重量部、6%ナフテン酸コバルトを0.4
重量部、硬化剤を0.55重量部配合して樹脂液を調
製することができる。

雲母片4の各層によつて徐々に変化して、全反射
がほとんどすべての入射角の光に対して生じるこ
とになり、ゲルコート層3の下の寒水石の砕石5
が天然大理石の結晶(石目)のように見え、さら
に雲母片4のこの光反射効果によつてきらめき感
のある結晶粒子模様が表現されるものである。従
つてシベツクやビアンコベネートといつた結晶粒
子模様を有する天然大理石にきわめて近い人造大
理石を得ることがでるものである。尚、上記雲母
片4と同様な作用をなすものとして、例えばポリ
エチレンフイルムやポリプロピレンフイルムのき
わめて薄い(1〜10μ程度)層が重なり合つてフ
レーク状に形成された有機材料片又は無機材料片
も用いることができ、これを雲母片4と併用した
りまたは雲母片4の代りに用いることが可能であ
る。
