[考案の技術分野]
本考案は内燃機関のシリンダヘツドのシール構
造に係り、特にシール部材の位置ずれを防止でき
シール性・作業性・量産性を向上し得る簡易な内

の加工のためにシリンダヘツドaの側壁cの上縁

ール部材eの挿入を慎重に行なつても完全には防
止することができず、液体シール剤を用いて対処
していたが、シール部材eからの油洩れが多く問

異なる曲率中心を有する円弧形の段部を形成し、
他方その溝及び段部の曲率と一致させたシール部
材を形成すると共にそのシール部材を上記側壁の
溝及び段部に嵌合したものである。これにより、
シール部材の位置決め、位置ずれ防止ができると

面3a上に曲率中心O2がある。また、溝4のシ
リンダヘツド1内方側には段部5が形成されてい
る。段部5も円弧形をなし、その曲率半径はR1
であり、また曲率中心O1は溝4の曲率中心O2の
上方の距離l1の位置にある。シリンダヘツド1側
壁の上面3a上にはヘツドカバが被されるが、こ
の際溝4および段部5からなる孔部を閉塞するた
めに、シール部材6が挿入される。シール部材6
は第7図に示すように溝4に嵌合する主部6aと
段部5に嵌合する副部6aとからなる。シール部

案ではシール部材6の挿入により、何らの調整な
しに自動的に位置決めがなされ、側壁3の上面3
aとシール部材6の上面6cとが一致しシール面
が形成される。従つてヘツドカバを被せることに
より側壁3の上部開口を容易に液密にシールする
ことができる。更に、本考案では、シール部材6
の回転を規制するための段部5を円弧形としてい
るので、段部5およびシール部材6の成型ないし

うにしてもよい。この場合の例が第14図、第1
6図である。第14図では段部5が溝4の両側
に、また第16図では段部5が溝4の片側にあ
り、第14図には第13図のシール部材6が、ま
た第16図には第15図のシール部材6がそれぞ
れ使用される。また、第17図に示すように段部
5をその最下端が溝4の最下端よりもl2下方にな
るように形成してもよい。この場合の例が第19
図であり、溝4の片側に段部5が形成されてお
り、これに対応して第18図のシール部材6が使
用される。更に、この場合、段部を溝の両側ある
