Door mirrors have recently become popular as rear-view mirrors for automobiles, but while these door mirrors have the advantage of having a larger image that is easier to see than the conventional fender mirrors, they do not protrude outward in the lateral direction of the vehicle body. This is rather inconvenient as there is a high possibility of contact with other objects when driving in a narrow space or parking in a garage. As a countermeasure to this problem, folding door mirrors that can be folded down along the vehicle body have been proposed, but even with this, a certain degree of lateral protrusion cannot be avoided and there is a possibility of contact with other objects. I couldn't get rid of it.

The present invention has focused on this point and has been devised for the purpose of providing a fully retractable mirror device, in which a mirror visor containing a mirror is rotated via a rotating hinge part on the side edge of the top surface of the bonnet. The mirror visor can be installed in the use position where a part of the mirror visor protrudes outward from the outermost side of the fenders on both sides of the bonnet, and when it is flipped toward the inside of the vehicle body, it is stored in the recess formed on the top surface of the bonnet. The recess for storing the mirror visor is provided with a lid that is positioned substantially on the same plane as the bonnet and covers the opening of the recess when the mirror visor is in the use position; ,
A drive power section for rotating the mirror visor is provided inside the bonnet, and the drive power section automatically rotates the mirror visor between the use position and storage position, or stops the rotation at a desired position. It is characterized by being equipped with a changeover switch.

In Figure 1, 1 is a mirror visor, 2 is a mirror, 3 is a bonnet top plate, 4 is a fender, and 5 is a mirror visor.
is a rotating hinge part, and the mirror 2 is supported by the mirror visor 1 via a well-known pivot bearing (not shown), and a portion of the mirror visor 1 protrudes further outward than the outermost side of the fender 4 when in use. It has an oblong shape that allows it to be used. The rotating hinge part 5 has a support shaft 5a at a corner that is on the lower side and inside the vehicle body when the mirror visor 1 is in the use position.
The mirror visor 1 is rotatably attached to the side edge of the bonnet top plate 3 via a rotation hinge part 5. Reference numeral 6 denotes a recessed portion for storing the mirror visor 1, and 7 is a cover plate.
By inverting it 180 degrees from the use position, it is stored in the recess 6 as shown by the chain line. Further, the cover plate 7 is rotatably attached to the upper edge of the recess 6 at a position opposite to the rotating hinge part 5 by a hinge 8, and when the mirror visor 1 is in the use position, it is mounted in the same position as the bonnet upper plate 3. It is biased by a spring (not shown) so as to be located in the plane and cover the opening of the recess 6, and is pushed down into the recess 7 by the mirror visor 1 when the mirror visor 1 is reversed to the retracted position. It's becoming like that.

Figures 5 to 5 show the state in which it is installed in an automobile.
That is, the mirror visor 1 is attached to the side edges of the bonnet top plate 3 as close to the windshield 22 as possible so that it is located close to the driver like a door mirror. It is supported at angles such that appropriate backward viewing angles θ 1 , θ 2 , and θ 3 can be obtained from the standard appointment P of . Also, unlike the door mirrors, the driver can use the windshield 22
Since the mirror surface is seen through the mirror, the mirror visor 1 is provided at a position where it can be seen from the appointment P within the wiper sliding range W.

In the figure, 25 is a power battery, 26 is a use switch, 27 is a storage switch, 28 and 29 are relays having self-holding contacts 28a, 28a and motor circuit opening/closing contacts 28a, 29b, respectively.
30 and 31 are diodes, 32 is a position detection switch, 33 is an automatic/manual changeover switch, switches 26 and 27 are, for example, push-button type switches without a self-holding function, and position detection switch 32 rotates together with the rotating hinge part 5. It is equipped with a movable contact 32a and a fixed contact 32b provided so as to be turned off in the use position and the storage position, and are connected as shown in the figure.

Now, when the use switch 26 is pressed, the relay 28 is activated, the contacts 28a and 28b are turned on, and the motor M rotates in the direction of rotating the mirror visor 1 toward the use position. When the mirror visor 1 rotates a little, the movable contact 32a rotates counterclockwise in the figure and contacts the fixed contact 32b, the position detection switch 32 turns on, and the relay 28 closes the contact 28.
The motor M continues to rotate even if the use switch 26 is no longer pressed. When the mirror visor 1 rotates to the use position, the fixed contact 32a separates from the fixed contact 32b, the position detection switch 32 is turned off, the motor M stops, and the mirror visor 1 protrudes to the outside of the vehicle body in the same way as the door mirror. It will be in a used state. At this time,
The cover plate 7 automatically rises to cover the opening of the recess 6.

In addition, remote control from inside the vehicle is possible.
The use switch 26 and the storage switch 27 are located around the driver's seat. Also, even when a mechanical type that uses hydraulic pressure or the like is used as the drive power section 12, the switches that operate the changeover valve and solenoid valve are An automatic/manual changeover switch 33 located around the driver's seat is used to stop the self-holding function by turning it off.
When released, the motor M will stop at that position, which is used to change the field of view of the mirror.
In addition, although only one motor M is shown in FIG. 2, if a motor is provided for each of the left and right mirror devices without interlocking them via an appropriate movement mechanism, two motors M may be used as shown by the chain lines. Just connect the motors in parallel.

As is clear from the above description of the embodiments, according to the present invention, the mirror device can be stored inside the bonnet without protruding laterally outward from the bonnet, so that when in use, it can be stored on the outside of the vehicle body. Even if it is a large mirror device that protrudes from the outside, it can be retracted as necessary to eliminate the outward protrusion, and by providing an automatic manual changeover switch in the drive power section of the mirror visor. , an operation that automatically moves the mirror visor to the use position and the storage position and stops it, and the mirror visor can be stopped at the use position and the storage position and any position in between, that is, an appropriate protrusion angle according to the usage situation. You can selectively stop the mirror visor and change the field of view of the mirror. In this way, in narrow spaces, the mirror visor can be rotated to the extent that it does not protrude beyond the vehicle body, and while its large size makes it easy to see what's behind, it does not get in the way when driving in narrow spaces or when parking in the garage. There is an advantage of being able to obtain a convenient mirror device that is not necessary.
