There is a multipath header type shown in .874. The configuration is shown in Fig. 5. A plurality of flat tubes 2 are arranged in parallel between a pair of left and right header sections 1 that store a heat exchange medium, and a heat dissipation tube is arranged between the plurality of tubes 2. Usually, a plurality of elongated holes 4 are formed in the opposing tube walls of the header section 1 at regular intervals in the vertical direction, and both ends of the tube 2 are inserted and fixed into the elongated holes 4.

There is a problem that the paris gets caught and is difficult to remove. Therefore, it has been impossible to perform burring, which is desirable for securely fixing the tube, because the mold cannot be removed.

Although it is designed to make contact with the wall surface, as the tube 2 becomes flatter,
In order to secure the cross-sectional area, the wall thickness of the tube 2 is reduced, making it difficult to form a stepped structure.

Both end edges 131.13 are inserted into the header pipe 11 and have an arc shape continuous to the inner circumference of the header pipe 11.
2, and a header cover 13 whose outer peripheral surface is joined to the inner peripheral surface of the opening edge of the header pipe 11 to close the opening 12, and the opening 12 is formed by performing burring on the remaining side wall of the header pipe 11. This opening serves as an insertion opening for a jig for forming the mounting hole 4.

2 is integrally provided with a flat mounting bracket 14 that protrudes outward from both end edges. A plurality of elongated holes 4 are formed at regular intervals in the vertical direction on the pipe wall of the header pipe 11 facing the opening 12, and the elongated holes 4 are burred into cylinders for holding the tubes 2. A holding portion 15 having a shape is attached. The opening 12 serves as an insertion opening for a jig when burring the header pipe 11, and is therefore formed so that the width W1 of the opening 12 is larger than the width W2 of the holding portion 15.

As a material for the header pipe 11, a plating sheet coated on both sides with a brazing material can be used, and after this plating sheet is formed into a substantially cylindrical shape, it is subjected to a burring process. As shown in FIG. 4, burring jigs 6 and 7 are inserted in the directions of the arrows to form an elongated hole 4 with a holding portion 15 attached to the side wall of the header pipe 11. At this time, the opening 12 of the header pipe 11 serves as an insertion opening for the jig 6, and after machining, the jig 6 can be pulled out in the same direction as the machining direction, so that burring can be easily performed.

The insertion amount of the tube 2 can be regulated to an appropriate constant amount by further inserting another jig through the opening 12 and bringing it into contact with the insertion end of the tube 2. In addition, by expanding the tube 2 after assembling the tube 2, reliable fixation can be achieved, and brazing does not sometimes cause displacement. Next, the header cover 13 is inserted into the header pipe 11, the separator 5 is attached, and then integrally brazed to form a product.

The outer circumferential surface of both ends of the header cover is joined to the inner circumferential surface of the opening edge of the header pipe to close the opening, so stress concentration does not occur at the joints as in the conventional case. This ensures strength.
