本考案は内燃機関用ピストンリングに関するも
のであり、特に高鉛燃料使用、又は腐食雰囲気を
もつた内燃機関対策のピストンリングに関するも

現在、公害問題により燃料の無鉛化が進んでい
るが、高鉛燃料使用、又は腐食雰囲気性の強い内
燃機関も諸外国を中心にまだ多く使用されてい
る。高鉛燃料使用、又は腐食雰囲気性の強い内燃
機関においてはHCl等の為腐食雰囲気が強く、そ
の為、通常のクロムメツキリングの摩耗が著し
い。その為、現在高鉛燃料使用、又は腐食雰囲気
性の強い内燃機関対策としてリング外周面に厚ク
ロムメツキを施す事が主に実施されているが、そ
の効果はコスト、生産性に比し十分なものではな
い。他にリング外表面に軟窒化処理を施したリン
グもあるが、これは腐食雰囲気に強い為、摩耗は
少ないが運転条件によつてはスカツフイングが発

ツフイングを防止し、しかる後に腐食に強い軟窒
化層2が表面に出る。ピストンリングの全表面に
施された軟窒化層2はリング上下面に於けるピス

たたかれ摩耗を防止し得る高鉛燃料使用、又は腐
食雰囲気をもつた内燃機関用のピストンリングを
