Description
エンジニアリングプラスチックは、従来技術によれば、それらの高い加工温度に基づき、ストランドペレット化によってのみ加工することができる。それにより得られた円柱状のペレット体は、鋭いエッジを有する。輸送及びさらなる加工の際に、これらの鋭いエッジは、ダスト発生及び微粒子発生の増大をまねき、これらには、対応する労働保護対策が必要とされる。そのうえ、該ペレットの品質は低下している、それというのも、該ペレット表面の損傷、例えばマイクロクラックが生じうるからである。
欧州特許出願公開第3377288号明細書(EP3377288)及び欧州特許出願公開第2361174号明細書(EP2361174)には、プロセスチャンバー中での水中ペレット化によるプラスチックペレットの製造方法が記載されており、該チャンバー中でプロセス液体は、少なくとも2.0barのプロセス圧力で120℃を上回る温度を有する。しかしながら、該プラスチックペレットの品質は、多くの用途にとって十分ではない。
本発明の課題は、従来技術を鑑み、高温パーティクルフォームの新規のペレット化法を提供することであった。
前記課題は、水中ペレット化を用いて、ISO 11357-2(発行:2014年07月)による少なくとも180℃のガラス転移温度を有する少なくとも1種のポリマーを有するポリマー組成物から、(硬質)パーティクルフォームを製造する方法を提供することによって解決され、前記方法は、
押出機のポリマーメルトを、
a)加圧された第1の水循環路中へ移送し、ここで、圧力は0.2~30barの範囲内であり、かつ該水循環路における水温は105℃~180℃の範囲内であり、
b)ペレット化し、かつ
c)任意に、第2の水循環路に供給し、前記の第2の水循環路が、100℃を下回る温度を有し、かつ
1)非加圧下で又は
2)0.2~30barの範囲内の圧力下で操作される
ことにより特徴付けられる。
好ましくは、標準圧力でベース材料のガラス転移温度を下回る沸点を有し、かつ標準温度(すなわち25℃、1013mbar)で液体で存在する揮発性有機化合物は、非ハロゲン化炭化水素、ケトン、アルコール、ハロゲン化炭化水素及び前記のものの混合物からなる群から選択される。
Ultem 1000タイプのポリエーテルイミドの水中ペレット化
ISO 11357-2(発行:2014年07月)に従って測定される217℃のガラス転移温度を有するポリエーテルイミド(PEI)(Ultem 1000、SABIC、オランダ)を、押出機(Automatic Single Screw APM E1-180)の原料タンク中へ入れる。押出しは、約370~375℃及び15barの圧力で行う。処理量は160kg/hである。多孔板を経て、メルトは、水中ペレット化(SPHERO 70、MAAG Automatik GmbH、ドイツ)に供給される。ノズルでの圧力は、該多孔板の上流で約195barである。該ペレット化は、9個のナイフで2000 1/minで実施される。
引き続き、ペレットは、遠心乾燥機(CENTRO 300、MAAG Automatik GmbH、ドイツ)中で乾燥される。その残留水分は0.30~0.47%である。
Claims (11)
- 水中ペレット化を用いて、ISO 11357-2(発行:2014年07月)による少なくとも180℃のガラス転移温度を有する少なくとも1種のポリマーを有するポリマー組成物から(硬質)パーティクルフォームを製造する方法であって、
押出機のポリマーメルトを、
a)加圧された第1の水循環路中へ移送し、ここで、圧力は0.2~30barの範囲内であり、かつ前記水循環路における水温は105℃~180℃の範囲内である、
b)ペレット化する
ことを特徴とする、前記方法。 - 押出機のポリマーメルトを、
a)加圧された第1の水循環路中へ移送し、ここで、圧力は0.2~30barの範囲内であり、かつ前記水循環路における水温は105℃~180℃の範囲内である、
b)ペレット化し、かつ
c)第2の水循環路に供給し、前記の第2の水循環路は、100℃を下回る温度を有し、かつ
1)非加圧下で又は
2)0.2~30barの範囲内の圧力下で操作される
ことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の水中ペレット化を用いて(硬質)パーティクルフォームを製造する方法。 - ISO 11357-2による少なくとも180℃のガラス転移温度を有するポリマーが、ポリスルホン又はポリイミド、殊にポリエーテルスルホン(PESU)、ポリフェニルスルホン(PPSU)、ポリスルホン(PSU)、ポリエーテルイミド(PEI)、熱可塑性ポリイミド及びそれらの混合物の群から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の(硬質)パーティクルフォームを製造する方法。
- 前記ポリマー組成物が発泡剤を含有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の(硬質)パーティクルフォームを製造する方法。
- 工程a)における温度が、発泡剤添加ポリマーメルトのTgを少なくとも5℃下回ることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の(硬質)パーティクルフォームを製造する方法。
- 発泡剤が、標準圧力でベース材料のガラス転移温度を下回る沸点を有する揮発性有機化合物、無機発泡剤、熱分解可能な発泡剤及び前記のものの混合物からなる群から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の(硬質)パーティクルフォームを製造する方法。
- 前記ポリマー組成物が造核剤を含有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の(硬質)パーティクルフォームを製造する方法。
- 造核剤が、タルク、グラファイト、カーボンブラック、二酸化チタン及び前記のものの混合物からなる群から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の(硬質)パーティクルフォームを製造する方法。
- 得られたペレットを、工程b)の後に排出し、かつ乾燥に供給することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の(硬質)パーティクルフォームを製造する方法。
- 得られたペレットを、工程c)の後に排出し、かつ乾燥に供給することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の(硬質)パーティクルフォームを製造する方法。
- 航空宇宙、船舶建造、車両製造における、殊にエレクトロモビリティにおける、請求項1に記載の方法により製造された(硬質)パーティクルフォームの使用。
