チャレンジ化学物質(challenge chemicals)のモル数Vに対するRED数のプロットは、ポリマーのESCを相関させる手段として示される。プロット上の中間のRED数のところに適度な吸収領域があり、そこでESCが発生し得る。RED数が高い場合、吸収量が十分でないか、或いは低い吸収率で緩和が優先的に発生し得る。RED数が低い場合、ポリマーは激しく攻撃又は溶解される。RED数はチャレンジ化学物質とポリマーのHSPの違いに由来するため、RED数が大きいほど、平衡吸収の程度が低いことを示す。Vは、テストされた溶媒間の相対的な移動(速度論)現象を反映している。他のすべての条件が同一である場合、より小さく、より線状の分子はより速く拡散、吸収する。
ハンセン溶解度パラメータ理論によれば、ポリマーの溶解度は、分子間の分散力によるエネルギー(δD)、分子間の双極子分子間力によるエネルギー(δP)、及び分子間の水素結合によるエネルギー(δH)に依存する。これらの3つのパラメータδD、δP、δHは、3次元のハンセン溶解度空間を形成する。溶媒はハンセン空間の点として表され、ポリマーは半径Roの球で表される。
上記の相対エネルギー差(RED)値は、以下に従って計算した。
図15、16、17は、本研究で提案された開示材料の3つの分類の用途をまとめたものである。これらはそれぞれ構造色、超疎水性用途、液体フロー用途である。
特級グレードのポリスチレン(PS、16、28、及び160kDa)は、Polymer Source Inc.(カナダ)から入手した。商用グレードのポリスチレン(35及び192kDa)、ビスフェノールAポリカーボネート(PC、45kDa)、ポリ(メチルメタクリレート)(PMMA、120kDa)、及びポリスルホン(PSF、35kDa)はSigma-Aldrich(米国)から入手した。光開始剤の9,10-フェナントレンキノン(PQ)及び4,4’-ビス-(ジエチルアミノ)-ベンゾフェノン(BDABP)は、それぞれ東京化成工業(日本)及びSigma-Aldrichから入手した。溶媒のn-ヘキサン、トルエン、ジクロロメタン、クロロホルム、メタノール、エタノール、テトラヒドロフラン(THF)、酢酸、酢酸エチル、及び酢酸ブチルはナカライテスク(日本)から入手した。溶媒の1-プロパノール、2-プロパノール、1-ブタノール及びアセトニトリル;蛍光色素のAtto-495及びAtto-610;並びに酸化アルミニウム粉末(ブロックマンI)はSigma-Aldrichから入手した。n-ヘキサデカン及び蛍光染料クマリン153は東京化成工業から入手した。ポリジメチルシロキサン(PDMS)はダウコーニング(米国)から入手した。脱イオン(DI)水は、Milli-Qタイプ1超純水システム(Merck-Millipore、米国)を使用してラボで得られた。
レジストと現像溶媒を表1~8に示す。
1-1-1.PS
PS(20~35kDa、Sigma Aldrich)をトルエン(Aldrich)溶液に溶解し、濃度が5~10wt%のPS溶液を作製する。フィルムをその後に可視光に露光する場合、光開始剤として7.2wt%の9,10-フェナントレンキノン(PQ;東京化成工業)及び/又は5wt%のチオキサンテン-9-オン(TX;Sigma Aldrich)をPSクロロホルム又はジクロロメタン溶液に混合した。
ポリスチレン(PS)とポリ(メチルメタクリレート)(PMMA)のポリマーブレンドを、PS(35kDa又は20kDa、Sigma Aldrich)とPMMA(4kDa、8.6kDa又は15kDa、HORIBA STEC)のさまざまな混合比で構成した。可視光下でPSを架橋し、PMMAを分解するために、0.8wt%の9,10-フェナントレンキノン(PQ;東京化成工業)又は0.4wt%のチオキサンテン-9-オン(TX;Sigma Aldrich)を、5wt%PS/PMMAブレンドのクロロホルム溶液に添加した。
酢酸ブチル又は酢酸エチルを、ポリ(2,3,4,5,6-ペンタフルオロスチレン)(PFS)のスピンコーティング溶媒に使用し、トルエン(Aldrich)をポリ(4-クロロスチレン)の溶媒に使用した。
溶液を、研磨されたシリコンウェーハ、金属、及びガラスなどの鏡面を有する基材上にスピンコーター(MS-A100、ミカサ)でスピンキャストした。スピンキャスティングは、薄膜に残留応力を残すことが知られている。クリアにするために、フィルムに対して、架橋のために電磁放射に曝露される前に、高温(例えば、ポリスチレンの場合は190℃)でアニーリングすることによって応力除去を行った。
光開始剤を添加していないポリマーフィルムをUV光(波長254nm、CL-1000、UVP)に露光し、架橋を実行した。光開始剤を含むポリマーフィルムを、LED電球(Thorlabs)によって生成された可視光に露光した。LED電球の波長は、各々285、300、340、375、385、395、405、420、455又は490nmであった。あるいは、光開始剤を含むポリマーフィルムを、レーザーによって生成された可視光に露光した。レーザーのビームサイズを平凸レンズによって変更し、及び/又はポリマーフィルム(PS-b-PMMAなど)を焦点距離を超えて配置し、これにより、ビームを最大7mm×7mmの正方形に拡大した。
UV又は可視光によるPS架橋後、表1~8に示されている氷酢酸又は他の適切な溶媒に室温で10~180秒間浸漬することによりフィルムを現像した。
2-1.構造分析
得られたクレーズリソグラフィフィルムの構造を、走査型電子顕微鏡(FE-SEM;JSM-7500F、JEOL又はSU8000、日立を15.0kVの加速電圧で使用)とUV-vis分光計(MCPD-3700、大塚電子;210~820nmの光源;MC-2530、大塚電子)を使用して調べた。
表面エネルギーは接触角計(DSA25S、KRUSS)で測定した。剥離プロセスを、スコッチテープ又は反応性イオンエッチャー(RIE-10NR-KF、SAMCO)によって、CF4流量89sccm、圧力10Pa、出力50W/cm2で実行した。
フローチャネルの研究では、溶液の流れを光学顕微鏡(Axioscope A1 MAT、Carl Zeiss)又は共焦点顕微鏡(ニコン)で観察した。溶液はフィルムのスクラッチから注入した。
クレーズリソグラフィ溶媒のハンセン溶解度パラメータ分析
図3は、クレーズリソグラフィ溶媒のハンセン溶解度パラメータ分析を示す。ハンセン空間上の良好な溶媒であるトルエンと現像に成功した混合溶媒がプロットされている。大きな球はポリスチレンの相互作用半径を示す。斜線付きのドットは酢酸を表し、黒のドットは混合溶媒を表す。
図4は、異なる分子量のスチレンが他の点で同一のクレーズリソグラフ処理に使用された場合に、多孔質構造に見られる周期的なスペーシングの変化を示す。
図7は、スチレンホモポリマー(ポリフルオロスチレン、ポリ4-クロロスチレン)及びスチレンブロックコポリマー(ポリスチレン-b-ポリ(アクリル酸))で観察されたクレーズリソグラフ構造の断面SEM画像を示す。
クレーズリソグラフィは、シリコン以外の反射性基材でも実証されている。図11は、アルミニウム箔基材上に形成されたクレーズリソグラフィ構造の断面SEM画像を示す。図12は、鏡面ガラス基材上に形成されたクレーズリソグラフ構造の断面SEM画像を示す。図11及び12のそれぞれにおいて、ポリマー膜はPS-b-PMMAレジストを使用して形成され、各画像のスケールバーは500nmを表す。
図13及び14は、高い撥水性の表面を形成するための材料の使用を示す。図13の左側の画像は、エッチング前のポリスチレンをベースとしたクレーズリソグラフ構造のSEM断面図を示す。右側の画像は、エッチング後の対応する構造を示す。各画像の差し込み図は、表面と水滴の間の接触角の測定結果を示している。エッチング前の表面接触角は95°である。エッチング後の接触角は140°である。
図18は、レーザーマイクロビームを使用して生成されたクレーズリソグラフ構造の断面SEM画像を示す。レーザーマイクロビームの幅は画像に示されている。図18は、クレーズリソグラフ構造の発達がレーザーマイクロビームと明瞭に整列していることを示している。
図19~24は、クレーズリソグラフ構造の進展に関し示唆されるメカニズムを示す。
図20は、光が基材に対して斜めの角度で入射する状況を示している。その効果は、面の間の分離の度合いを高めることである。
図25はさらに、クレーズリソグラフィプロセスを示す。ポリスチレンなどのクレーズリソグラフィレジスト32は、Si又は金属などの反射基材30上に堆積される。図25の左側の部分に示されるように、レジストは波長λincの入射光34に曝される。

Claims (32)
- 構造化ポリマー材料の製造方法であって、
前駆体ポリマー材料を含むボディを提供し、
前記前駆体ポリマー材料を含むボディ内に電磁放射の干渉模様を作成することで部分的に架橋されたポリマー材料を形成し、
前記部分的に架橋されたポリマー材料を溶媒と接触させて、非架橋領域の少なくとも一部に膨張及びクレーズを引き起こして、ポアを含む構造化ポリマー材料を形成すること
を含み、
前記干渉模様は、前記電磁放射の強度の極大値と極小値を含み、これにより、前記干渉模様は、前記前駆体ポリマー材料に対して空間的に差異のある架橋を引き起こし、相対的に高い架橋密度を有する架橋領域と相対的に低い架橋密度を有する前記非架橋領域を形成し、前記架橋領域及び前記非架橋領域は、それぞれ前記電磁放射の強度の極大値と極小値に対応するものであり、
前記前駆体ポリマー材料は実質的に均質であり、
前記構造化ポリマー材料は、複数のラメラを有し、隣接し合うラメラには介在するスペース層によって間隔が置かれており、前記スペース層は隣接し合うラメラと一体に形成され隣接し合うラメラ間に延在するスペース要素の配列を含み、前記スペース層は前記スペース層内に延在する相互接続的多孔性を有する、
方法。 - 前記前駆体ポリマー材料は、前記前駆体ポリマー材料のボディ内に前記電磁放射の干渉模様を作成する時に、単一相からなる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記前駆体ポリマー材料は、前記前駆体ポリマー材料のボディ内に前記電磁放射の干渉模様を作成する時に、1種以上のホモポリマー、1種以上のコポリマー、及び/又は1種以上のブロックコポリマーを含む、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 前記前駆体ポリマー材料がブロックコポリマーを実質的に含まない、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 前記前駆体ポリマー材料が、可視光への曝露時に前記前駆体ポリマー材料の架橋を引き起こすように機能可能な光開始剤を含む、請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 膨張及びクレーズを引き起こすために使用される前記溶媒は、ハンセン空間にプロットされたときに、前記前駆体ポリマー材料のハンセン溶解球の外側にあるが、前記前駆体ポリマー材料を可塑化して膨張させるために、前記前駆体ポリマー材料のハンセン溶解球に十分に近いところにある、請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記前駆体ポリマー材料が基材上の層として形成され、前記基材の表面が前記干渉模様を作成するための反射界面を提供する、請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記前駆体ポリマー材料の第1の領域が前記電磁放射に選択的に曝露され、前記前駆体ポリマー材料の第2の領域が前記電磁放射に曝露されず、これにより、前記膨張及びクレーズは前記第1の領域のみに生じ、前記第1の領域にポアを含む構造化ポリマー材料が形成される、請求項1~7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の領域が、マスクによって前記電磁放射から遮蔽される、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の領域が、レーザーによって電磁放射に選択的に曝露される、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記前駆体ポリマー材料の第1の領域が電磁放射に選択的に曝露され、特徴的な第1の周期性を持つ第1の干渉模様を形成して、対応する第1の周期性を有する層状多孔質構造を形成し、且つ、前記前駆体ポリマー材料の第2の領域が電磁放射に選択的に曝露され、前記第1の周期性とは異なる特徴的な第2の周期性を有する第2の干渉模様を形成して、対応する第2の周期性を有する層状多孔質構造を形成する、請求項1~7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 構造化ポリマー材料の製造方法であって、
前駆体ポリマー材料を含むボディを提供し、
前記前駆体ポリマー材料の第1の領域を電磁放射に選択的に曝露して、特徴的な第1の周期性を有する第1の干渉模様を形成し、
前記前駆体ポリマー材料の第2の領域を電磁放射に選択的に曝露して、前記第1の周期性とは異なる特徴的な第2の周期性を有する第2の干渉模様を形成すること
を含み、
前記第1及び第2の干渉模様は、前記前駆体ポリマー材料と相互作用して、部分的に架橋されたポリマー材料を形成し、各干渉模様は、前記電磁放射の強度の極大値及び極小値を含み、これにより、前記干渉模様は、前記前駆体ポリマー材料に対して空間的に差異のある架橋を引き起こして、相対的に高い架橋密度を有する架橋領域と相対的に低い架橋密度を有する非架橋領域を形成し、前記架橋領域及び前記非架橋領域は、それぞれ前記電磁放射の強度の極大値と極小値に対応するものであり、
前記方法はさらに、前記部分的に架橋されたポリマー材料を溶媒と接触させて、前記非架橋領域の少なくとも一部に膨張及びクレーズを引き起こして、前記第1の領域に、対応する第1の層状多孔質構造の周期性を有する層状多孔質構造を形成し、且つ、前記第2の領域に、前記第1の層状多孔質構造の周期性とは異なる、対応する第2の層状多孔質構造の周期性を有する層状多孔質構造を形成すること
を含み、
第1及び第2の層状多孔質構造はそれぞれ、複数のラメラを有し、隣接し合うラメラには介在するスペース層によって間隔が置かれており、前記スペース層は隣接し合うラメラと一体に形成され隣接し合うラメラ間に延在するスペース要素の配列を含み、前記スペース層は前記スペース層内に延在する相互接続的多孔性を有する、
方法。 - 前記第1及び第2の干渉模様が、異なる入射角、若しくは異なる波長、又はその両方での電磁放射によって形成される、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 画像を表示するための構造化ポリマー材料の使用であって、前記構造化ポリマー材料は複数のラメラを有し、隣接し合うラメラには介在するスペース層によって間隔が置かれており、前記スペース層は隣接し合うラメラと一体に形成され隣接し合うラメラ間に延在するスペース要素の配列を含み、前記スペース層は前記スペース層内に延在する相互接続的多孔性を有し、前記ラメラ及び前記スペース層は、照明光を反射するように機能可能である、
構造化ポリマー材料の使用。 - 前記構造化ポリマー材料の第1の領域が、第1の特徴的なスペーシングにより間隔を置いて隣接し合うラメラを有し、前記構造化ポリマー材料の第2の領域が、前記第1の特徴的なスペーシングと異なる第2の特徴的なスペーシングにより間隔を置いて隣接し合うラメラを有し、これにより、前記第1及び第2の領域は、白色の照明光下で異なる構造色を表示する、請求項14に記載の使用。

- 第1及び第2の領域を有するポリマー構造であって、各領域は隣接し合うラメラを有し、前記隣接し合うラメラは介在するスペース層によって間隔が置かれており、前記スペース層は隣接し合うラメラと一体に形成され隣接し合うラメラ間に延在するスペース要素の配列を含み、前記スペース層は前記スペース層内に延在する相互接続的多孔性を有し、前記第1の領域では、隣接し合うラメラは第1の特徴的なスペーシングにより間隔が置かれており、前記第2の領域では、隣接し合うラメラは前記第1の特徴的なスペーシングと異なる第2の特徴的なスペーシングにより間隔が置かれており、これにより、前記第1及び第2の領域は、同じ入射角の白色の照明光下で異なる構造色を表示する、

- 前記ポリマー構造中の前記ラメラの平均厚さが20nm以上である、請求項18~25のいずれか1項に記載のポリマー構造。
- 前記ポリマー構造中の前記ラメラの平均厚さが200nm以下である、請求項18~26のいずれか1項に記載のポリマー構造。
- 前記ポリマー構造中の前記ラメラは、40nm以上の周期的なスペーシングを有する、請求項18~27のいずれか1項に記載のポリマー構造。
- 前記ポリマー構造中の前記ラメラは、1000nm以下の周期的なスペーシングを有する、請求項18~28のいずれか1項に記載のポリマー構造。
- 前記スペース要素は、実質的に中実の柱状構造である、請求項18~29のいずれか1項に記載のポリマー構造。
- 請求項18~30のいずれか1項に記載のポリマー構造を含むマイクロ流体装置。
